Casey Jones

Cassandra Marie Jones (a.k.a. Casey, Case,)

Casey Jones is a teenage hockey player turned night time vigilante and a close friend with the turtles

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Physical Appearance

Casey is tall with a broad-shouldered, muscular build. Her face is also has a lot of sharp, square, masculine features, which causes her to be mistaken for a boy a lot. Oddly enough she never corrects this. She has pale skin and sharp brown eyes that could give a killer death stair. Her hair is long and dark and shaggy. She rarely puts it up and lets it hang free over her shoulders.

Apparel & Accessories

Casey has a kinda punkish tomboy fashion sense. She buys most of her clothes from the mens section. Her go to outfit is a maroon crop-top and a pair of ol' reliable raggity jeans tucked into a pair of combat boots. When she's going vigilante mode, she'll throw on an oversized coat, fingerless gloves and a hockey mask to hider her idenity.   The hockey mask itself is an iconic feature for her, as it's how most people meet her before getting a taste of her hockey stick in their mouth. Occasionally if she loses one she'll customize another one with a new painted design.

Specialized Equipment

Casey carries with her a duffle bag of sports equipment that she fights with. She'll use just about anything in her arsenals, but her favorite is a black hockey stick she's affectionately named 'Becky Basher'.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Casey was born in a poor neighborhood to a rather broken house hold. Growing up Casey's family didn't have a lot of money so they had to penny pinch to get by. When Casey was 6, her parents finally got a divorce and her father stormed out of the house an abandoned them.   Casey lived in a tough neighborhood and had to learn to fight at an early age to defend herself from the older kids who would bully and harrass with weaker kids. She would start making alliances with some of the stronger kids which would be her first friends. One of these friends would be a boy named Arnold. Her an Arnold hung out with the other 'delinquents' in the neighborhood, which was really just their posse of kids who protected each other from other kids.   This would eventually get them in trouble when some of them would get roped into a local gang known as the Purple Dragons. Casey and Arnold would also get recruited by a man named Hun. Hun initially promised the purple dragons to be a safe place for anti-authority teens to hang out and have a family that wouldn't judge them. Casey got particularly close with Hun for a while, looking up to him as a cool older guy and a replacement father figure for her, but would soon be put off by Hun's pushier, creepier comments towards her.   Casey and her friends would be sucked into doing petty crimes that would get more and more dangerous as time when on. One night, they broke into a pawn shop, only to face the owner who had a gun. Everyone bailed, including hun who pushed Arnold in the way of the gun to escape. Arnold was fatally shot in front of Casey before she inevitably also had to leave the store for her own safety.   She confronted Hun about leaving someone to die, but he coldly responded with "People die, he was a liability." After that incident, Casey realized how much harm the Purple Dragons were actually doing and decided to leave. But she couldn't just leave it at that. Her friend needed to be avenged, and the best way she could think to do that is to take out the gang.   She decided she would take on the go out at night a stop their crimes herself as a masked, roller blading vigilante, using her skills in sports to beat the crap out of and purple dragon scum she saw.

Gender Identity

Casey is a girl, and uses she/her pronouns most of the time, but her build, her voice, and her fashion sense often causes people to mistake her for being a guy. Despite this being incorrect, she never bothers to correct people when they make the mistake, as she doesn't really care if people get her gender right.

Education

Casey goes to the same school as April O'Neil, but in contrast, she doesn't do as well in school. She keeps her grades floating just above the point where she can stay in sports, but she still tends to struggle in school and will often have April tutor her so she can keep her grades up. Casey often gets in trouble in school due to her attitude and spends a lot of time in detention.   The thing that keeps Casey from dropping out entirely is her hockey team. She's the only girl on the hockey team, but she's good at it and absolutely loves the sport. She takes pride in being one of the best on the team despite it being a 'dude's sport'.

Employment

Casey works odd jobs here and there to support her single mom and makes a little extra money so she can work on her van. She never works at one place for long but most of the time she's fired due to her 'attitude' rather than how hard she works. She struggles with customer service because she won't restrain herself from snapping at stupid customers.

Mental Trauma

Casey suffers some PTSD from watching her friend die during her time in the Purple Dragons, but she can't afford to get therapy, so bashing heads is her therapy.

Morality & Philosophy

Casey is generally a morally good person, but she is also very anti-authority, believing that the police are corrupt and useless (ACAB), so when she sees injustice happening in the world, she'd rather take things in her own hands than trust the cops to take care of it.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Casey's motivation is primarily just to clean up the streets her way. She can't stand seeing crime go unchecked in her city while the police do nothing about it, so she takes the law in her own hands. She doesn't even care about petty crimes either, her primary concern is stopping innocent people from getting hurt.

Virtues & Personality perks

Casey is a powerhouse, she can easily keep up with the Turtles in regards to just raw fighting skill. Her fighting style is chaotic, the kind you can only learn from years of street fights, though she spices things up with her rolller blades which gives her a quick, smooth movement that is difficult to keep up with.   Casey is passionate and loyal to her friends. She is a great person to hang out with once she opens up to someone, as she's just a chill person who wants to have fun and live free.

Vices & Personality flaws

Casey is often described as... scary. She has a reputation for being a violent delinquent, which prevents her from having a lot of friends. She's hotheaded and gets into fights a lot, which gets her in trouble with the school and authorities. Her passion can often cause her to go overboard, especially when doing her vigilante work, and she often doesn't think her plans through; preferring to just run in swinging and hope she hits something.   Casey is not very book smart, and struggles in school. She also often fails to follow Donnie and April when they start going off about nerd stuff.

Social

Family Ties

Casey has a small family, just her and her ma. She loves and supports her mother cause she's all she's got. She doesn't know much of her extended family as they are pretty alienated from them. She also hasn't seen or heard from her father in 11 years. She resents him for leaving them high and dry, but also never wants to see his face again unless her fist is in it.

Mannerisms

Casey is a tough girl and her mannerisms exemplify this. She's not one to smile a lot, and holds herself very big and intimidating. If anyone gives her a weird look she'd not afraid to get mean and scary at them. She has major RBF which causes people to think she's mad all the time and avoid her. She doesn't act very feminine at all, and behave more like 'one of the boys' more often than not.   She has a thick Boston accent, which she gets from her mom. She speaks very bluntly and to the point, with a lot slang thrown in. She's not one to use big words and often has to be told what some of them mean.

History

April and Casey have always been classmates but never really knew each other before the events of the story. When April and the Turtles found Casey she was stuck in one of Donnie's many traps. April vaguely recognized Casey but even then still get her gender wrong, calling her a 'boy from her school.'   Eventually Casey became friends with everyone and April got to know her better slowly. April offered Casey tutoring when she lamented about potentially getting booted from the hockey team if her grades fell, and after that they started hanging out more.

Relationship Reasoning

April and Casey have very little in common on the surface. The A+ validictorian being friends with the class delinquent was a very unlikely friendship, and admittedly it wouldn't have happened if they both hadn't gotten involved with the Turtles, but they actually seem to get along really well.   The two of them both have this chill, free spirited attitude that meshes really well, and they will talk for ours about their different life experiences. At the end of the day, April finds Casey to be a really interesting, funny girl, and Casey is endlessly amazed by how enthusiastic April is about everything she does.   Over time this friendship has started to blossom into something more romantic.

History

Casey met Raph for the first time after getting caught in a trap in the woods set up by Donnie. Raph was initially suspicious of her, as she came of very aggressive when they first met, but once everything was explained they both calmed down.   When Casey found out that their stuff had recently been stolen by Stockgen, Casey was determined to help them get their stuff back despite only knowing them for a few minutes. Raph also immediately impressed by her passion and fight skill. He was also the most startled when it was revealed she was a girl.   Raph started hanging out with Casey a lot after that, as they had a lot in common, and they quickly became good friends.

Relationship Reasoning

Casey and Raph mesh really well together. They are both strong and passionate and love to fight. Raph will often go to Casey when he feels like he needs to escape his family and blow of steam. Casey is one of the few people who can understand him and his anger issues, and one of the few people he'll open up to about it.   Similarly, Raph was one of the only people Casey has opened up to about her time in the Purple Dragons and what happened to her friend.

History

Casey's first introduction to Donnie was getting caught in one of his traps while she was sneaking through the forest. He was quick to get her down and explain everything, but she still was irritated at him for putting her in such an embarrassing situation. She would quickly get over it when she learned more about the turtles, as well as the situation they were dealing with earlier that morning.   When she found out their belongings were being stolen by Stockgen, she immediately agreed to help them get their stuff back. After helping them all break into Stockgen and defending them from Purple Dragons, Casey quickly befriended all the turtles.

Relationship Reasoning

Casey and Donnie talk whenever she visits, but they have the least amount in common. Donnie often wants to talk about his inventions and science stuff that goes right over Casey's head, and she'll usually retort by calling him a nerd.   However once they are working on cars, it become a different story. Working on Casey's van is the one time they can really bond, as they both have extensive knowledge about cars and how they work. The two genuinely have a lot of fun working on vehicles together.

Relationship Reasoning

VIcky had Casey very young in her life, and has gone through a lot of hardship with her marriage and financial situation. She tries her best to do right by Casey, but often she is so busy with her job and trying to keep up with the bills that she has little time to actually be a parent to Casey.   Casey doesn't hold it against her, understanding that times are hard and she's doing what she has to to keep the lights on and food on the table. But the lack of emotional attention has resulted in her seeking that attention elsewhere, often from dangerous people who would take advantage of her. The two have poor communication with each other, as often times Vicky doesn't really know the full extent of the things Casey is up to, until the rare occasion she's brought back home by the police.

Relationship Reasoning

Casey only got to know her father for a short period in her life when she was just a young kid. While she has a few fond memories of him, like him showing her how to play guitar, for the most part she only remembers how often he would stay out all night partying and drinking, and come home hung over and sleeping all day.   She also remembered all of the fights her parents would have. Ones that would leave their things broken and her mother when she thought Casey wasn't looking. She also remembers the day he abandoned them, and ultimately will never forgive him for what he did.   She'll often describe her dad in not the best light, calling him a piece of shit and 'sperm donor' instead of dad.
