“I highly doubt this snow will stick, Mikey,” Donnie noted. “It’s still too warm.”
“Yeah, well, that’s all fine and dandy, but now I can’t find what I’m looking for,” Donnie complained, pulling tapes and DVDs out of it. “I have a system.” He pulled out a tape and his expression fell. “Aw man…”
“What? What’s wrong?” April asked, walking over to Donnie. “It didn’t get eaten by mice, did it?”
“No it’s not that, I just forgot I had this.” He held out a tape, which had a cheesy depiction of dinosaurs and animals riding on a DNA strand that ended with several robots. A familiar scientist stood smiling confidently under the title “Baxter Stockman’s Animals of the Future: A Speculative Biology”.
April grimaced. “Yeesh… awkward.”
“Yeah… I forgot I had these.” Donnie clenched his hands around the tape bitterly. “I can’t believe I used to look up to this guy! And then he turned out to be a huge jerk!”
“I know what that’s like,” April admitted, rubbing the back of her head. “I… liked him as a kid too. They’d play his specials for video day at school. I remember I wanted to be just like him.”
“Never meet your heroes… right?” Raph grumbled.
“Tell me about it.” Donnie grimaced. “I should just toss this thing… but it’s so nostalgic.”
“Yeah…” April let out a chuckle. “Oh, remember that cheesy song that was at the start of every tape?”
“We’ll find a solution; to our evolution. It’s the history of our Earth~” Donnie sang. “Yeah, it still gets stuck in my head sometimes.”
“Hah! Yeah… I wonder why he stopped making these?” April frowned, taking the VHS to look at the back.
“I dunno,” Donnie shrugged. The last one on the wiki was released in 2009. Maybe he got bored, or there was a licensing thing.”
“Blah blah blah!” Raph moaned. “Enough about fucking Bastard Stinkman. I wanna watch a show about someone who doesn’t want to dissect us.”
“Right.” Donnie cleared his throat and placed the tape back on the shelf.
Synopsis
After the botched
Mutagen theft,
Baxter Stockman is running low on supply and growing desperate, so he decides to take the initiative by hunting down more stable mutants, the
turtles.
At the cabin, it is a cold day and the boys are prepared to watch a movie with
April O'Neil when
Donatello's parameter alarms go off and they go to investigate a potential mutant, only to find Stockman trashing the forest in his massive
Stockmech. The Stockmech is near impenetrable and insanely strong and already slow from the cold, the turtles struggle to fight it.
Stockman is eventually revealed to be a fly mutant when the front panel pops off. He then uses cold gas to freeze the turtles and knock them unconscious, before capturing them. April, seeing the whole thing go down, runs to
Splinter and
Casey to help save them.
