Acliestes the Defiler

Acliestes the Defiler is a Merrow Wizard who led a large force of his folk. He is a fervent devotee of Dagon, and he gladly dominated his people, spurring them on to acts of depravity and violence. His raiding eventually brought him into conflict with the Vedalken of Nethalarus, and he briefly came in possession of some of their treasures, including a ring of keys to some of their ancient vaults. He also made bargains with the Dragon Turtle, Riptide, using the big creature as muscle.

The ring of keys was his downfall, as the Fire Wasps needed it to acquire the Moondaughter's Staff. In conjunction with the Vedalken, they moved against Acliestes and slew him, bargaining with Riptide to abandon the battle.
