House Padwyn

The house of Padwyn is a noble house of the Kingdom of Summerlund. The house was of minor import until Califax Padwyn led an uprising against Osmund Valmar in 743 SKR. At that time, the nobles of Summerlund made Califax their King, elevating the house’s fortunes.

Cassandra Padwyn was the second and last Padwyn to rule Summerlund after her father’s passing. Her marriage to Albar Thonwyr meant that the kings of Summerlund following her were considered to be of house House Thonwyr rather than Padwyn.

Edele Padwyn is currently the Duchess of Ostralm, a title given to her when her husband, Hadyn Thonwyr, divorced her due to her childlessness. She is known to resent being put aside, and some feel that, with Hadyn having died before naming one of his children King or Queen, Edele may make a play for the throne, forcing Summerlund into civil war.
