Ingis Marik

Ingis Marik is a Derro Druid who roams the Underdark. He recently (within the last twenty years or so…he doesn’t remember well) discovered the Duergar settlement of Drengingvult and took up residence on its upward outskirts. He used his affinity with the lifeforms of the world below to tame monsters like ropers and hook horrors, then used them as his hunting partners, occasionally killing duergar for food.

He was present when Uvalok the Devourer came to Dreningvult and began to kill. He managed to stay hidden and safe, but he knew what was happening below. When the Fire Wasps encountered him, he made the mistake of trying to hunt them, but they spared his life in exchange for information. He told them of Uvalok, then, when released, hid until the fight was over.

With Darberik Fivebraids and his Dwarves taken over and renaming the city to Dammunheim, Marik knew he needed new quarters. Traveling through the Underdark, he took up residence in the under-ruins of Vashantar in Velnar. When the Crownseekers passed through, Kylon Strongtusk noticed the hidden derro, and Misi, having recognized several items around his tent as being Druidic in nature, called out to him in the secret tongue of the Druids. This made Marik pause and hear them out.

Through the charisma of Thomas Bontemps, the group won him over, and he began to be friendly towards them...or at least as friendly as Marik gets towards people he'd likely rather be eating. He helped with a bit of information, but now felt the place was getting crowded. He may yet turn up in some other ruin in the future.
