Kas Amnon is a small city on the northern borders of
Amnon’s Wood in central
Tavanion. It was founded by
Jetherek Amnon in the first days when the
Eladrin came to
Tol in exile from the
Feywild. Amnon commanded that a fortification be built, and a wooden palisade was quickly erected. Over time, settlers made their homes around it, and its ruins eventually became the foundation of a stone castle from which the town takes its name.
When many of the Eladrin retreated into the Feywild during the attack of the
Tarrasque on
Gwyllan's Watch, most of the folk of Kas Amnon decided to stay. The Path of the Destroyer did not lead to their town, but eastward and then north, and, as the descendants of explorers, they chose to continue their residence on Tol, accepting the leadership of Prince
Belerion ap Kadishai as the new ruler of their land.
Kas Amnon is also notable as the closest settlement to the field where the
Witchlight Carnival visits every eight years - the only known location on Tol that receives such a visit. The town's population often expands geometrically during this singular night.
