Kyask Overview

 

Kyask is more of a region than a country, as there are no formal borders or single ruler. This section of eastern Golognoth is home to many Gnolls. Their mad devotion to the Demon Lord Yeenoghu makes their region something of a theocracy. The practices of slavery, barbarism, cannibalism, and other unholy rites make travel in Kyask extremely perilous for the more civilized peoples. Some scholars theorize that the rise of gnolls in Kyask is what compelled the Orcs of Turkhast to head north and form the Orcish Hordes – with the eastern borders of Turkhast pushed westward, the orcs needed somewhere to go. Those who know the orcs well disparage this idea. The god-king Laminok Bloodfist would not likely favor those orcs that fled from a fight. In reality, the borders of Turkhast and Kyask are a constant crusade, back and forth, over warring (albeit both monstrous) ideologies.
