Merei Greenspear

Merei Greenspear is an Aeotaen woman who was born in Summerlund. Her parents, both from Kaoru, traveled across the sea and became guests of the Summerling king, Hadyn Thonwyr. Their daughter Merei grew up around knights and warriors and, denied the chance for knighthood, became a soldier in the Summerling army, instead. When she was eligible to be advanced to the rank of commander, she was given command of Owlbear Company, and she has served with distinction ever since.

Armed with a spear with a greenstone head, she cuts an exotic figure on the battle-field. She is swift and deadly, however, as she proved in a duel with Ghost of the Fire Wasps. She led Owlbear Company to more victories in the War of the Three Heads than any other company, causing a small amount of humiliation to Sir Karatacus Brightshield, the leader of the more prestigious Phoenix Company.
