Ostinium

Ostinium is the matter which the Great Mechanism is made of, as well as all the demons that hail from that realm.   Named after the god of loyalty, Ostinatos, Ostinium is extremely durable and hard to damage. Even in its pure form, it is harder than any material in Trutina except for Adamantine. This property makes Order Demons and other things that come from there very resilient, even compared to Chaos Demons.   As Ostinium comes from The Plane of Order, it does not have an ore form. The metal is produced by unknown means by the Great Mechanism.   In its pure form, the metal has a coloration somewhere between bronze and copper, which makes it hard to distinguish for the untrained eye. The material is also notoriously non-reactive to most forms of energy. It is not magnetic and it has a very low thermal conductivity, making it nearly impossible to melt and work. Most successful attempts at transforming the material included some form of magic, especially chaos magic, one of the few things the metal seems susceptible to.

Blue Ostinium

Blue Ostinium is an alloy made of pure Ostinium and Adamantine. This alloy is the strongest material known and it is considered to be indestructible. The alloy combines all of the benefits of both components and it also gains a number of additional properties. Despite its name, Blue Ostinium has a greenish, turquoise color and it is naturally cool to the touch. This apparent temperature never seems to change, regardless of outside sources of heat or cold. Although it is believed that over the span of centuries, Blue Ostinium can be heated up or cooled down, but no such experiment has been done yet. Similarly to pure Ostinium, Blue Ostinium is also not magnetic and it also seems to be less effected by gravity, making its behavior quite unusual.   In addition to its physical properties, Blue Ostinium possesses magical abilities as well. Spells cast in the vicinity of Blue Ostinium don't add to the planar energies of the caster.   The creation of this alloy remains a mystery to the metallurgists and scholars of Trutina and the only examples of this material are heavily guarded artifacts throughout the lands of Trutina.
