Senator

Senators represent the many planets of the galaxy in the Imperial Senate, and the Republic Senate before that. Some senators are genuine in their desire to make improvements, while others are entirely corrupt and sought only personal gain. Senators are often served by various aides, whose careers are closely tied to the senator they served, unless they were able to replace them.
With the appointment of Sector Moffs towards the end of the Clone Wars, and the recent creation of the title of Grand Moff, the authority of Senators has been considerably reduced.
