Cyanite is a blue crystal with an interesting property, its inherent primal magic resonates with organic matter, allowing one to perform a special type of organic manipulation called Mutagen Artifice. Mutagen Artificers (also known as Organic Artificers) use Cyanite in order to edit the structures of life; this process is how the Yuan-Ti reform their appearances and splice together limbs. The Empire also exports these mutagens to other nations and black markets, where they will be used by those who seek to make body modifications.

Cyanite deposits can be found due to the presence of Cyanids, or large trees with strikingly blue foliage that oddly are able to grow in The Red Sands. The Yuan-Ti have developed a complex set of mining rigs able to extract raw Cyanite to be refined by Mutagen Artificers like Kresz, Mutagen Artificer, who then transform them into products for use and export.
