The August Body

The August Body serves as the governing body of The Voladrian League and is composed of the leaders of each city-state member and the head of the Obsidian Bank. All decisions are made via voting where a simple majority (>51%) is needed, while new members and banishments require a supermajority (>66%). There are no positions of authority granted to any individual, and when official state business is to be conducted, three random members of The August Body are chosen as representatives.
Given the diversity of opinions within, decisions are rarely made and disagreements or verbal altercations are common. Two major factions exist within the August Body, one led by Balenne Siaga, who supports economic expansion, and the other led by Erebus, who supports militarization. Court reporters meticulously document every word spoken in the chamber verbatim, from impassioned speeches to expletive-laced insults.

The Obsidian Chamber

Sessions are held in The Obsidian Chamber, located in the Free City of Vol. Though the chamber technically sits on the soverign territory of Vol, the rooms and offices of the Obsidian Chamber are owned by the Obsidian Bank, which enforces the area's neutrality.
