Duke Charles de Hrengrian, of Tourlu
The half-elf lord of Tourlu who threatened to upset the balance of power in Rivell, Charles was a famed warrior with the power to back up any threat he made. Charles prefers the direct approach then to playing The Game, despite his rank as jack then king of spades.
A muscular man, Charles was often seen in his ancestral plate mail with his hand and half sword and shield. Though he was classified as an elf, his size gave away his Orcish ancestors, and he also aged at a similar speed to other Orcs.
History
Early life
Born to the duke and duchess of Tourlu, Charles was well-educated in matters of statecraft and warfare, though he normally focused on his military training. At fifteen he was knighted by Prince consort Florian when the latter arrived to deal with a peasant revolt, only to find Charles had already dealt with it with only a single death, that of the count of Boulon for abuse of power. Once knighted he took control of Tourlu's military, proving himself a capable combatant in several tourneys, even winning the melee at the spring's rose tourney in 122 Fey. At the outbreak of the civil war, He took his troops to the Drake spine mountains to protect against invasion from Orslon.Succession
On twenty-nine Rapha, Charles's father was killed by the false jack of hearts, a rogue. Returning with a small guard to get his affairs in order, Charles was crowned duke on the thirty-fourth Rapha, before heading south to confront Queen Anora.
