House Whiteledge
House Dorfan is a house known for its stalwart defense and expert stonecrafting. In the time of old House Whiteledge stood as a bastion against The Jarldom of Nordria training expert warriors and manning the massive wall known as The Whiteledge. While their main purpose was defense the house has also made a name for itself in its plentiful marble quarries and renowned stone masons. The current lord of the house is Jakobe Whiteledge who has become lord in the place of his brother Gunar Whiteledge who recently passed. The houses sigil is a green backround with a white tower and their words are "We do not forgive".
Structure
House Whiteledge is extremely adherrant to tradition and thus will always prefer the next male line of kin when it comes to succession. The house holds a court for the lord and the lord controls his manor and lands.
Culture
It is said the Whiteledge folk are without humor and harbor some of the most stalwart and disciplined soldiers in The Aleanza. They are a warrior culture through and through, but some amongst them also posess an expert understanding of stonecrafting and sell these skills to other houses for high prices.
Assets
Due to being primarily military focused House Whiteledge posesses less wealth than other houses, but a larger standing army than most as well. The wealth they do have comes from plentiful stone quarries and the tariffs charged for the Nordria caravans that pass through Whiteledge. They posess a standing army of 6000 men strong equipped with half-plate and a variety of weapons to fit a situation. They also have a strong core of mounted knights and various mercenary bands on standby.
History
House Whiteledge was formed as a result of the Frozen War with the Jarldom of Nordria. After they had attacked and were driven back north the great fortress known as Whiteledge was built as a bastion against further attacks. Since then diplomacy has prevailed and thus Whiteledge has grown into a trade hub and the house's stone masons have become more important.
Demography and Population
Almost all of House Whiteledge's population lives within the city of Whiteledge as the surrounding area is cold and unforgiving all year around. Those who do live outside its walls are usually hunters in secluded lodges or live in small hamlet farms growing potatoes. Slaves are common, for the quarries require a lot of manpower to hall the slabs of marble.

House Whiteledge occupies the northern most point of Hochland up to the border of the Frozen Pass.
