House Ravenstrong
House Ravenstrong is a vassal house of House Ursa who's power rivals their liege due to their ownership of the city known as Lyntown. They get their wealth from the vast silver mines around the hills of Lyntown and their infamous spy network. The house's current lord is Lady Nevundri Ravenstrong, a renowned prophetess who is without husband. Their house sigil is a purple banner with a black ravens head and their words are "We are the night".
Structure
House Ravenstrong is organized in a traditional manor with a lord in charge and their court supporting them, however Nevundri has been the lady of the house for as long as anyone can remember and despite never being married has produced a child, Kaeyla Ravenstrong. House Ravenstrong also has a tradition of searching for young girls who show signs of magical talent and at a young age take them to be trained in the ways of magic and espionage under the eye of Nevundri herself.
Culture
Ravenstrong's culture is divided into two main groups. There are the people of Lyntown known for their hardwork, hardiness and honorbound nature much like the traditional northern image the rest of the empire has of them. Then there is the Ravenstrong side for villages nearby. This culture is one where women are the ones in charge and there's is a culture of secrecy and wariness of outsiders though no one knows what secrets they hide.
Assets
House Ravenstrong is very wealthy, rivalling House Ursa in their wealth through their plentiful silver mines near Lyntown. Not to mention that Lyntown is a crucial trade point being at the conjuction of 3 rivers and a place of hospitality for the cold northern lands. The house posesses 3000 trained men at arms equipped with chain mail, spears and shields backed up by a strong core of sorceresses. They have no navy.
History
The founding of House Ravenstrong is a mystery with most theories eluding to the fact that the founders may have been a coven of hags or hex-bloods.
Demography and Population
House Ravenstrong rules over the large city of Lyntown giving it a varied population. Most of the population lives in Lyntown with the others living in rural areas. Most of the population are some sort of miner, merchant or farmer with the wealthy class being very small in number. Their lands posess a smaller number of slaves with most of them being used on farms or in the mines.
Territories
Ravenstrong controls the area around their keep The Reave and the surrounding land of Lyntown which stretches to the border between them and the Khalrag Dominion. Much of this land was occupied by the dominion before they were pushed deeper into the Plains of Ioclude.
Religion
The Ravenstrong people are very religious and firmly follow The Order Tide and their favored gods Moradin and The Raven Queen.
