Visiting Randy's New Restaurant
- Finn and Panda stayed watch on the ship.
- The restaurant was not packed, but seemed to be receiving plenty of business.
- Some of the crew requested leave time and visited the restaurant themselve
- Gelflael went to find his dad
- Ryltar accompanied the party to dinner
- One of the chefs was Jadebuckle, whom the party had last seen as the head chef of the Burly Bear in Perch.
- Jadebuckle explained that business had been slow and supply costs high in Perch with the war in the south and the disbandment of the Merchant's Guild.
- Krumbleton was reluctant to eat the ribs Randy had cooked for him.
- Alton sampled one. It was delicious.
- Krumbleton ate the food finally, though he was not dissuaded from throwing shade in Randy's general direction - especially regarding Edgar.
- Harold used minor illusion to give Alton big ears.
Alton wanders off
- Alton went to find the source of a lonely fiddle in the restaurant.
- The musician was an acolyte of the child in a mask that bore a crown of bones.
- She did not say anything.
- After he tipped her, she gifted him the mirror of Kithrin Sharadnae, a silver mirror with a red back.
Randy's Sponsor
- Randy brought the party into the Golden Ladle lounge area next to the kitchen.
- He explained that, while the party was away,
- The Notuan/Fajyri alliance had attacked the Qivari empire. The Qivari had retaliated by attacking Sudport and New Port. They dealt heavy damage to Sudport but suffered heavy losses in New Port.
- Verdanna, distrustful of both the Borean and Notuan alliance, had allied themselves with the Qivari.
- The Merchants' Guild had be ousted from Celeb, Doran, Perch and most nearby towns and cities.
- The Dewstalker family in Port was refusing to banish the Merchants' Guild from their home city
- Similarly, there was some dissent among the nobles around Lake Willowfell regarding the lord of Vyra's orders to disband the Merchant's Guild
- There were rumours that the dwarves of Thurdain were uneasy with Vyra's latest move.
- Randy confidentially revealed to the captain and the party that he was being sponsored by the Judge (Elmon Kats).
- The Judge was reportedly directly responsible for the move against the Merchants' Guild as well as the expulsion of the other Vyran judges.
- It was heavily implied that the Judge somehow had the Lord of Vyra in his pocket.
- The Judge had provided Randy with funding in exchange for Randy keeping an eye on people coming and going through the restaurant.
Ryltar is fine
- Alton and Ryltar went for a walk.
- Ryltar wanted to go explore the ruins far in the cursed swamp to the south
- Alton found an old column that seemed to be pointed south west - Ryltar was satisfied with this.
Surprise - Vampire
- The captain asked Randy to meet with the Judge to discuss the possibility of obtaining land/guards for a local teleportation circle.
- The party was surprised to find the judge waiting for them in the restaurant just a few hours later in the night.
- Farren and Alton deduced that the Judge was in fact, a vampire. The party realized that they had only ever encountered him at night or inside.
- Farren called him out, which he did not seem to appreciate.
- Harold tried to get close to the Judge, who seemed to use a similar power to Myviira and forced him to the other side of the room.
- The Judge was less than enthused that they were still willing to work with him and seemed to decide to try to ignore the issue
- The Judge was still open to providing manpower when he had resolved his current issues with the Merchants' Guild.
- The Judge commented that he had expected to see Alton months ago - Alton denied any intent to complete that contract and offered his services to the Judge instead. The Judge subsequently gave a list of four thorns in his side
