Treasure 6/12 7/2/2458

General Summary

You see this sword? It was given to me by Luin.
— Captain Farren regarding Luin's Sword of Sunlight handed to him by Rust

Harold Miraculously Makes it Back

  • Harold lugged five chests of treasure back to the ship in gargantuan form.
  • He encountered a pack of wolves, charming two with the potion of animal friendship and causing them to lose interest.
  • He avoided some skiing frost giants.
  • He ignored the taunting ghostly voice of the Choker, who claimed to be able to think more clearly and be planning something special for Harold.
  • He was confronted by Vamp Vek, who wished to purchase his helmet. Harold refused and instead offered one of the treasure chests. Vamp Vek seemed surprised by this and accepted.
  • Harold made it to the ship with the four remaining chests and shrunk down to normal size, sent a message to the captain, and went to rest.

The First of the Interruptions

  • Harold was interrupted once by Mirdock, asking for directions.
  • Ryltar offered to cast sending to help Harold obtain accurate directions as the ship sailed away from the circle of Luin and towards the party.
  • He was interrupted by "Myvi's" voice in his head, requesting entry to the engine room. Then the mess hall. Harold told her she could wait on the deck for the captain and she stopped speaking with him.

Glass Memory

  • Back in the Mirror, the glass memory Rust had activated played out in ghostly silence.
  • There were four individuals in view - three elves, one on the ground with a sword, dying after possibly being hit by a fireball.
  • The other two, one with a sword, another with a staff, turned to yell at the fourth individual, a nearly human man in robes with arms that at times appeared skeletal and a sharp toothed Cheshire smile. He shrugged and seemed uninterested for his part.
  • The one with the sword attacked, and the strange man flung him into the wall where he fell to the ground.
  • The one with the staff looked ready to attack but was ripped in two by the elf who had seemed all but dead a moment before. Then, they both vanished.
  • The strange man picked up an oar, wandered to a window which had been located behind what would become the garden area. He began to row.
  • A shadow appeared through the window, but the man with the oar shooed it away.
  • The man with the oar paused briefly, looking down at something, and chuckling.
  • The memory ended.

Time for a Break

  • Noticing Rust had sustained heavy damage, the captain proposed everyone return to the ship to rest.
  • Donnie shared potions of water breathing in exchange for everyone admitting that she found the treasure first. Everyone but rust took one.
  • Leaving the mirror, five more chests were missing, leaving only two.
  • The party returned to the ship without issue.

Back of the Ship, All Was Well... well...

  • Alton gave his rose to Wyldo, explaining it was weird (no smell).
  • Alton briefly worried about the wound from the rose, telling Wyldo to destroy it if it caused him to start dying.
  • Wyn was worried when Alton started talking about dying.
  • Fernando was relieved that they had arrived, explaining how worried he was when only Harold returned.
  • Fernando then went to go tend to Rust, but after buffing his shoulder to a shine realized he did not have the necessary magic and sought Krumbleton's aid.
  • Harold woke up to tell the party briefly what he had been up to, blamed them for losing the extra five chests and was likewise blamed in return.
  • When Harold mentioned the beautiful woman who had given him the amulet and telepathically requested to board the ship before attempting to go back to bed, Alton panicked.

Oh no

  • Alton tried to find Ryltar but found him nowhere on the ship.
  • Wyn remembered Ryltar had been resting, then went to ask how long it would take to reach the captain. She remembered going on deck to see what was taking him so long and then there was a suspicious gap in her memory. She seemed upset by this.
  • Alton woke up Harold, demanding a description of the woman who had spoken with him. It matched Myviira.
  • Farren woke up Harold (vengeance for all the times?) and cast remove curse on him, which allowed Harold to give up the amulet. Farren later chucked it into the engine/forge where it sounded like it was destroyed.
  • Alton found signs of a brief scuffle including a small blood drop but no one remembered anything.
  • Alton told the captain all of Ryltar's story.

Where is Ryltar

  • Alton asked the ship be brought down to the ground.
  • Farren used locate object to find the shoes Alton had given Ryltar. They found one shoe covering Ryltar's deliberately buried spellbook. Inside, in reddish brown hurried writing were the words "protect her".
  • The snow in the area had been recently trodden upon but at a certain point they disappeared.
  • Krumbleton sought Thor's guidance. Thor drew a map to the Sapphire Island.
  • Krumbleton also sensed that there was somewhere out there he needed to bring Thor's hammer, and himself, though the location was unclear yet.

Other Business

  • Donnie, Wyldo, and Farren settled on a 33.33% split of the treasure between their three "crews".
  • The captain persuaded Donnie to assist in attacking the vampires and helping their lost passenger.
  • Rust managed to try placing the Key of Worlds in the pedestal, activating the second orb on the chair arm. He sensed he could go anywhere, even teleport within Vyaelian, though this was not recommended.
  • Rust crafted a key for one of the chests.
  • Alton comforted a crying Wyn, who had been eavesdropping, and who blamed herself for not being able to protect her big brother. Alton promised they would bring him back.
  • Farren pointed out that they could not go to the vampire with Wyn on board - they had to keep her safe. Alton chickened out of telling her himself I mean let Farren give her this news. She was not happy but seemed convinced enough.
  • Farren claimed they could not fail with the gods on their side.
  • Farren noticed there was blood on the tip of Alton's dagger, but Wyn did not remember where it came from. She let Farren borrow it.
  • The party set sail for Sen's, hoping he could keep Wyn safe while they took care of Myviira and saved Ryltar.
  • Alton mentioned that they would need to leave food with her, as Sen's cupboards were bare.

Rewards Granted

  • 6/12 treasure chests
