Kingdom of Vexan
The Kingdom of Vexan is a country in the North of West-Argo occupying most of the former Prabaiian Northern Coast. It is a relatively new nation, only being formed in the year 1PB, although it quickly became a true hegemon in the north, thanks to the rich wealth of the Vexan cities.
For the history of the Vexans before the year 1000 AZ, see the Five Brothers of Vexan . Ever since the conquests following the rise of the Prabaiian Empire, the mid-northern coastlands of West-Argo were inhabited by a variety of people with ancestral ties to the Ceasterwyrtha, one of the two cultures that split off from the old Melisternian mainline. There people, commonly called the Wexanoi, were just like many of the other Āngenġan peoples (the other Melisternian culture that split off earlier) that occupied the regions Melisternian by blood, although they all had been deeply influenced by other local peoples, religions and customs. Over the course of the first 750 years after the fall of the Melisternian Empire, these peoples would grow apart in various ways, with language being the most notable, with many people shifting over time from the once common Low Melisternian to local dialects, although in some cases, like the one of the Laikka, an unrelated secondary language slowly replaced the old primary. It is from the second half of the millennium that the new culture groups could be clearly distinguished, as the commonly grouped Wexanoi had evolved into the Podoalmeri, Rocui, Bataqui, Laikka and Bočetti.

Government & Politics
The Kingdom of Vexan has ever since its founding at the dawn of the Third Age of the Man been organised as a semi-constitutional monarchy. In it, the nation, led by a hereditary monarch, leaves the daily businesses of government to a Higher and Lower Chamber of Nobles of both of which the monarch is the head. These Noble Chambers are responsible for all matters of statecraft and lawmaking, although the King holds an unlimited right to veto and may even dismiss the Chambers in times of war. In those times, the monarch alone acts as government, with the monarch choosing a select few members from either chambers to form the Privy Council of War, an advisory organ to the king in times of war. When the realm is at peace again, the council is disbanded by law and the Chambers are reinstated, however sometimes this process is delayed. When in 82 PD the 2nd Vexan-Prabaiian war came to an end, a actually quite minor insurrection of demon worshippers in Vexan kicked off so much civil unrest that King Berhin II decided to keep the Privy Council in place for an additional 5 years, although this would never happen for such a duration again. In normal times of peace, the Noble Chambers contain 33 seats each, whose holders are chosen in elections every 10 years, or when the monarch passes. The High Chamber is chosen by and from the nobles from the rank of Baron or higher, the Low Chamber from those of Knight to Landgrave. Off course only the Noble Chambers are not enough to run the nation, therefore the Crown Offices of State serve to support the crown in its personal duties, which encompass all tasks not taken up by the Noble Chambers. Such things include but are not limited to justice, Infrastructure, health, religion and finance.Military
The army of Vexan is structured completely in a feudal model, with local lords being obliged to grant men to the army when needed, as well as handling matters of banditry, rebellion and other local military matters themselves. However, to avoid the Vexan armies consisting just of peasants and noble retinues, military orders and state sponsored mercenary companies are a major part of the armed capabilities of the nation. Their quality and number vary massively, but together they make a quite massive group. Especially naval matters are mostly handled on mercenary basis, with trading ships and their crews being protected by law from conscription, instead, the kingdom relies on a steady supply of privateers from mostly Saiko and Bočechnia, with Holzmark providing the bulk of quick mid-range sloops and the Czatzekians of Bočechnia providing the majority of the heavy warships.Demography and Population
