Lola Trill

Lola Trill is Hobart Shaw's childhood best friend.
Lola became friends with Hobart at the orphanage in Vorba. She was kind to him and helped him come out of his shell. She was eventually adopted by a well-to-do family when Hobart was 12, and she was to be formally trained in magic. Hobart lost contact with her for a long time, and he traveled to Mystryl in search of her.
Eventually, Hobart and Lola were reunited. She described her troubles with the University, which mostly centered on her free spirit conflicting with what she considered an overly-strict method of education and approach to magic. She has since found a group of like-minded individuals in search of a freer, "truer" theory of magic.
Unfortunately, Lola was on the other side of the Midnight Mountain Incident. She fled rather than fought her old friend, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
