Deepcore Foundation
The Deepcore Foundation was, at one point in time, a world leader of technology and innovation, having started as a mere mining company and quickly growing into a massive megacorporation that spanned the entire globe. Nowadays, most people consider them to be the catalyst for The Withering, seen as a ghost that has forever scarred the landscape and brought the world to the brink of ruin.
Structure
President

Since the beginning, the Deepcore Foundation has always had one person at the top, primarily run by someone from the Russo family. They would act as the public spokesperson for the company and often make major decisions that the rest of the companies under the Deepcore Foundation would have to do. The last President before the Deepcore Foundation ceased operations was Freddie Russo, the great great grandson of Jebediah Russo.
Board Of Executives
Established by Anderson Russo, the Board of Executives is composed of various high-ranking individuals that operate within various industries and partake in different roles within the Deepcore Foundation. The number has increased steadily throughout the years, staring with an original 6 members before growing up to 15 before the corporation fell apart. These include the following roles:
Defense Industry
Worked with various arms of the military industrial complex, as well as established connections with "opportunistic individuals".
Transportation Industry
Worked with and managed various aspects of vehicle production, ranging from terrestrial to naval prospects, to aeronautical and astronomical prospects.
Political Ambassador
Acted as the lifeline between the Deepcore Foundation and various governments across the world. Oftentimes showed up during UN summits.
Economic Accountant
Managed the money of the whole Foundation, as well as handled the funding and management of said funding to other industries and facilities under the Deepcore Foundation's umbrella.
International Relations
Worked to establish connections with other governments to get the Deepcore Foundation in their good graces. Often worked with the Economic Accountant and Political Ambassador.
Agricultural Industry
Managed the many sprawling farms owned by the Deepcore Foundation and what the farms should focus on growing.
Robotics & AI Industry
Focused on various types of advanced machinery and Artificial Intelligences.
Mining Industry
Heavily maintained and managed the mining locations under management by the Deepcore Foundation.
Research & Development Management
Worked with various other industries, as well as hundreds of scientists across the world, for advancements in technology and for understanding magic.
Medical Industry
Worked to establish and develop new types of medical technology.
Magic Industry
Heavily focused on ways to use magic, as well as manage the various smaller industries and facilities doing so.
Entertainment Industry
Would focus on various forms of entertainment, such as music production, video games, television and so-forth.
Real Estate Industry
Established and created areas for people to live in across the world or for smaller businesses to own.
Retail and e-commerce Industry
Worked on the delivery and selling of goods and services to the public, such as with opening stores across the globe.
Special Interests
For subjects that were considered outside the boundary of legality, the position of 'Special Interests' was the solution for dealing with such things.
Private Military Corporation
Acting upon orders of the President and the Executive of the Defense Industry, Deepcore's own private military corporation once played a large role in assisting the Foundation in spreading across second and third world countries, especially those that are wartorn. Once said to have been numbered into the thousands, the PMC has been split apart, with various remnants of it either having been aquired by the new governments, aquired by FENRIR, or splitting off into rogue, smaller groups such as Zero Force and Deepslate, or joining up with The Tower Of Babel.
KILLERS
Of particular note within the PMC were the KILLERS, black-ops soldiers whom have gone above and beyond with particular sets of skills and abilities. They tended to have magical or supernatural abilities, and were known for their training in a wide field of survival and operational techniques.
All known KILLERs, since the fall of the Deepcore Foundation, have joined up with The Tower Of Babel.
Inspectors
Inspectors were essential to the management of the various industries and systems throughout the Deepcore Foundation, operating either underground within the various mineshafts owned by them, instructing and ordering the various employees around, and so-forth. A common job of these Inspectors were to keep an eye out for any whom were causing problems for the workplace, as there were often a lot of individuals who held enough of a grudge against the Deepcore Foundation that they would interrupt it. They were often seen as a regular frustration for workers whom wished to partake in Union activities.
Culture
The work culture within Deepcore was said to have been rough, with a lot of manipulation and gaslighting going on throughout the various jobs and facilities managed by them. Employees would often be working long periods, sometimes with one 5 minute break in the midst of 14 hour shifts. Employees would be lured in by promises of high pay rates and packages, only to be met with dangerous conditions and hostile enviroments all the way through. Oftentimes, the Deepcore Foundation would bring in people whom were homeless, only to turn around and have them work the most dangerous locales without any regard for their safety.
Public Agenda
Since the time of Anderson Russo, the Deepcore Foundation operated on the belief of Providence. They believed that in order to make the world become a peaceful one, you would have to be willing to do anything, regardless of the moral cost. To this end, the Deepcore Foundation would put out as much propoganda describing their actions as just.
Assets
Alongside the aforementioned Private Military Corporation that the Deepcore Foundation had, they had billions of V-Units in revenue thanks to their various ventures and industries. Alongside that, the Deepcore Foundation had a massive team of lawyers, the best in the field that they could use to negotiate and manuver their ways around any legal jargon and lawsuit they found themselves in. Alongside that, they've both bribed politicians and put in lobbists in various governments to look past the things the Deepcore Foundation had done.
History
Beginnings
The company got its start in the 1890s by, mining underneath the small town of Chelburg, making a decent amount of money from their operations. It wouldn't be until the early 1900s, when an event known simply as The Bloom resulted in the sudden manifestation of Edenite beneath the Earth's surface. Acting quickly, the Deepcore Foundation would quickly begin to mine up the material and quickly gain a monopoly on it, selling it to the highest bidder. They were the first to discover it's latent, magical properties, and as such, began creating and selling various devices and inventions that made use of it. Before long, they began to grew in size, and around the time of World War I, the Deepcore Foundation was able to quickly assist the war effort, making hundreds of weapons and machinery for the American Forces.
Playing Both Sides
After the economic crash caused by the Great Depression, the Deepcore Foundation was one of the few companies that could weather the storm. It was during this time that the Deepcore Foundation, helmed by Anderson Russo after the untimely death of Jebediah Russo, began to undergo a kind of shift, one that would affect the entire world as a result. They would reach out to companies that went bankrupt and acquire them; and they would begin creating shell company after shell company, an endless stream of third-parties and such to hide their operations. It got to a point where they would begin opening up offices and facilities in other countries, all going under different names to hide the true owners.
By the time of World War II, along with supplying the Allied Powers with various weapons and materials, the Deepcore Foundation would secretly begin sending money and funding to other countries, including that of the Axis Powers. This act of betrayal would not be known until after World War II, in an act that resulted in the expulsion of Anderson Russo by his son, Jeffery Russo.
Modern World
As the 20th Century approached, the Deepcore Foundation began to expand it's operations further, continuing on the path that was already established by Anderson Russo, with operations being done in other countries and business being expanded across the globe. The Deepcore Foundation would establish various companies that would last even after The Withering, including AEROCELL and Keres Medical.
Then, in 1989, the first Vault was discovered. All over the world, people quickly became just fully aware of how many other realms there were, and what awaited on them. None of this interested anyone more than the son of Anderson Russo, Freddie Russo. Freddie was ambitious, he foresaw the changes that awaited the world, yet he knew that Anderson would be too slow to take advantage of these developments.
And so, Freddie had him assassinated, making it look like an accident. Freddie took over the Deepcore Foundation afterward and turned it into a powerhouse, the Foundation quickly taking over various industries and putting heavy emphasis on Realm Travel.
It was during this time that the Deepcore Foundation would become aware of Demons and, by extension, Sheol. Quickly discovering the magical power within this realm, the Deepcore Foundation took great strides in attempting to enter this realm and harvest materials from it. To this end, they founded TOWER, a top-secret biological and occult research organization.
Disbandment
Several incidents leading up to and including The Withering would result in public perception for the Deepcore Foundation turning for the worst.
Red Skies Incident
October 31st, 1999The event that resulted in the demise of TOWER and formation of FENRIR, The Red Skies Incident tore apart Las Vegas, resulting in the first-ever formation of Scarred Ash and a widespread pandemic of Soulscar in the midwest.
Alongside that, there was a flood of Demons that came through from Sheol, of whom began to hid amongst the populace, spreading across the states and integrating themselves into society, either publically or in hiding.
Inteference With Terra
Feburary 2nd, 2013 - 2027In an attempt to try and assist the realm with it's ongoing wars, the Deepcore Foundation began it's M.O. of secretly sending support and magical weaponry to all sides of the conflict, especially The Kingdom. This was all to hide their mining operations within the realm, trying to obtain the massive quantities of Edenite under the surface.
This would prove to be a costly mistake as a mineshaft fire resulted in a massive forest fire, one that enraged all of the Elven governments in the realm. As punishment, the Deepcore Foundation had a curse placed upon them, one that transported all affiliated with the Deepcore Foundation back to Earth. Supposedly, there are still bodies deep underground the Earth's surface.
Famines In South America
March 21st, 2006 - 2014From 2005 to 2006, the Deepcore Foundation had been pushing an experimental type of growth serum for crops, having secretly distributed it throughout hundreds of farms throughout South America. This would backfire heavily as the crops would begin to rapidly die, eliminating entire fields of Corn, Banana and Rice, as well as many other farmables in the continent.
This would result in widespread famines until 2014; which resulted in the Deepcore Foundation's actions coming to light in this period, severely damaging it's relations with the governments of the world.
Inteference With The Sands
December 2nd, 2010 - 2020In one of their misguided attempts to spread their influence across the realms, the Deepcore Foundation attempted to establish their PMC services within the realm; having created the Coalstorm Military Unit as part this attempt. Alongside that, they made efforts to replace the trains within the realm with the Rotātus Transport System that had seen widespread use across Earth.
This would prove to be a failure due to Coalstorm shooting down one of the mayoral candidates for Snakehead, which prompted uprisings against the Deepcore Foundation within The Sands-- of which a majority of Coalstorm ended up dead as a result.
All of these incidents, both within Earth as well as on the other Realms, would greatly tarnish the Deepcore Foundation's already shaky reputation even further-- especially as in the case of both Terra Eclipsis and The Sands, it strained the relationships between them with Earth's governments for allowing the Deepcore Foundation to get as far as they have.
Then, on August 19th, 2028, The Withering happened.
The Withering

Although it would eventually be realized that the Deepcore Foundation didn't have anything to do with it, during the first months after it, the blame was placed squarely on them. The location The Withering began at, Verdefort Crater, just so happened to be near where the Deepcore Foundation was beginning a new mining operation.
Alongside that, a series of correspondences between Freddie Russo, the Mining Industry Executive, and FENRIR revealed that, despite the latter sending out warnings to Deepcore about an unordinarily high amount of Mana being located in the area, Russo was adamant that the mining would not be halted, as the source of Edenite discovered there was in quantities "not seen since the early days of the Deepcore Foundation."
Eventually, DVNO would put out a hit piece that directly accused the Deepcore Foundation of their role in The Withering, regardless on if they actually had any involvement with it or not. This would result in a massive, furious demonstration right at the Deepcore Foundation HQ, one that kept growing and growing with not just Humans, but Nymphs, Vampires, AIs, Elves, Dwarves, Dolls, and Reptilia joining it as the chaos and destruction from The Withering grew. Supposedly, it got bad enough that even police officers on the Deepcore Foundation's payroll began to revolt.
Then, a grenade was thrown into the front office, and all hell broke loose.
The demonstrators turned into rioters, storming the offices and destroying just about anything they could find. One after another, each floor of the HQ was torn apart, before eventually the devastation reached the offices of Freddie Russo. Despite the intensive modifications he had made to his body and the few royal guards he had still, not even he was able to survive the full force of several dozen people charging at him all at once.
August 28th, 2028, around 9 days after The Withering occured, The Deepcore Foundation fell, with the President himself being dead, the executives scattered across the world, and their plans and schemes immediately coming to a halt. Anyone within the higher eschelon of the Deepcore Foundation would either be dead, obtained by one of the new governments of the world, or gone into hiding.

Although the Deepcore Foundation has tried and failed for years before their dissolution to win ARC's favor, ARC had steadfast refused to ever rely on them due to the Deepcore Foundation's influence on the other realms & the subsequent problems that resulted due to that.
