Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Emrah is a young teenager in excellent physical condition - he has all the best tutors in riding, weapons, fighting, and the like as well as dancing and tumbling. He has just had a growth spurt, and is a little bit clumsy with it, though long training in the various martial arts helps him to hide it.

Facial Features

Emrah strongly resembles his father's Arion family, or would, were it not for the fact that he inherited his mother's nose, and more notably, the Talat purple eyes and striking white-blonde hair. Still, when put up next to his father, the resemblance is unmistakeable.

Personal history

Emrah is the youngest ruler of Ostar or the Empire, having succeeded his mother at just 14 years old and being 15 now. It was not expected that his mother, Emphir Arda Talat the Younger would die for many years to come, as she had seemed healthy and well. He is the Emphir in his own right, but his father Julian Arion sits as his regent.

Mental Trauma

Emrah was the one who found his mother, dead in their quarters. He has nightmares about it, to the point where his father has ordered the rooms redecorated and is considering moving the family to another wing entirely.

Morality & Philosophy

Arda and Julian have striven to raise Emrah to be compassionate and kind, patient and curious; but most outside political forces of the Empire would rather he were more like his grandmother Emphir Hesna Talat or great-grandfather Emphir Melker Talat. The systems in place in the Empire are not designed for kindness and empathy, but rather for strict competence and ruthlessness, and Emrah finds himself stuck as a cog in the system as often as not.

Family Ties

While the head of the The Talat Family and the ruler of the Brilliant Empire, Emrah has strong ties to many other nations as well.
First and foremost, the rulers of his vassal states the Principalities of Heirin and Staton, Taylan Foxrun and Eri Kayani are his first cousins once removed; Eri by blood, Taylan by adoption.
The current ruler of the Principality of Arion, vassal state of the Kingdom of Delryn, is Emrah's uncle, Prince Alaric Arion III, his father's brother. The ruler of Delryn itself, King Cyprien Dell II, is Emrah's 3rd cousin.

Hobbies & Pets

Julian tries to carve out as much time as possible for Emrah to simple be a child, though of course sometimes that is simply not possible when one is the Emphir of the Brilliant Empire. One of Emrah's personal favorite hobbies is raising and flying hawks, and he has a keen interest in the birds of the Vasati people far to the West, though many of his own people would dismiss them as heathens and the stories of bonds between humans and animals as exaggerated.

A Namesake

Emrah is the namesake of his great-great-great-great grand-uncle Emrah Talat. While obviously far too far removed for either of his parents to have known Emrah the Elder, or in fact for even his grandparents to have known him, Arda stumbled across journals written by both Emrah the Elder and King Evren Talat during her research into the true history of the conquests of their people, and was struck by the first Emrah's tragically short life and how kind and generous his brother described him. Wanting that for their son, she and Julian picked the name for their firstborn.
