Personal history

Stiggur was a personal friend, close guard, and officer alongside Prince Berak Talat. As was the way of the Royal family in that time, Stiggur was raised and educated alongside Berak and then followed him to the front lines of the war. He was devastated by the loss of his Prince and friend when Berak was killed in the fighting, and threw himself into the War of Conquest with a fervor that everyone thought would get him killed right alongside his sword-brother.
Stiggur had known Princess Arda Talat, she was only three years behind him and Berak so they were in all the same classes and lessons in the Royal household, but they were no more than casual friends until they bonded over shared grief over Berak at the front lines. Reconnection with Arda kept Stiggur from committing suicide-by-battle, and they eventually married and had a son, whom they named Berak Talat the Younger.
Stiggur tragically outlived both his wife and the second Berak his son, but served as a canny advisor to his grandson Tahir Talat for the first few years of that King's reign.

Sexuality

For most of his life, Stiggur was happily married to Arda and loyal to her both in and out of the bedroom. However, he and Berak were more than just close friends and he was more than just his Prince's favorite bodyguard; the Prince and Stiggur were in a committed relationship since they were in their early teens. Stiggur would consider himself demisexual.

Employment

Stiggur was primarily trained and employed as a close personal guard - first for the Prince Berak the Elder. He was an accomplished military officer for the Kingdom, and when Berak was killed he refused several attempts to reassign him to other notables as a guard and threw himself into leading a unit on the front lines. It was only his rekindled relationship with Princess Arda that pulled him out of his suicide missions.
