Tawni was chosen to wed Prince Roshan Talat by then-King Taylan Talat to make an advantageous marriage with one of his fractious noble houses. Tawni and Roshan got along fine and had a son, Vadim Talat. Roshan was an accomplished courtesan, perhaps his only accomplishments. He knew what was in fashion, who was in with whom, what the gossip was; he could ride and hunt and hawk and dance. His family used this to their advantage, often leaving Roshan and Tawni home to "hold down the fort" and entertain otherwise bored rich nobles while serious work was being done in the background, and the couple was quite happy in this role.
