The Old Gods

The Old Gods represent the powers of the world themselves, in their most potent and primal forms. The forces of nature themselves. Where the domains of the New Gods are more refined, the Old Gods are fundamental and underly many of those domains. For example whereas there is a God of Poetry and Song in the New Gods, the Old Gods have Gods of Sound, Gods of Wind, etc. In some cultures they call them the spirts such as the Spirit of the Earth, the Spirit of the Wind and so on.   The Old Gods are unnamed. There is no language that could bear their titles. To worship the Old Gods is to worship the very world around you and what you are able to see. This makes it very popular as a religion among those who revere nature, such as druids and rangers.   Given the building blocks of the world around us, the deities who may be prayed to therefore are innumerable.   Examples of Deities:
  • Elements (Gods of Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Sound, Electricity/Lightning
  • Gods of Trees
  • Gods of Animal Spirits
  • Gods of Life and Death
  • Gods of Sky, Ground, and Sea
