Session 4.5 Report

General Summary

In this session, And, Fleek, and But went to see Lord Cacophony's speech on Mt. Dawnguard.   The session started with them in line to purchase tickets for the Dawnguard Gondola. As they were waiting, they saw a young centaur girl being harassed by a youth gang comprising of three dwarves, a kobold, and a half-elf. Keeping to a low profile, And used Vicious Mockery to frighten the gang's leader and chase them off. It wasn't long after that And, Fleek, and But were able to purchase their tickets and board a gondola headed up Mt. Dawnguard.   On the gondola, the three met and chatted with a Lizardfolk family from Jisho'mara who were going to see Cacophony's speech too. The family of three strongly disagreed with Cacophony's philosophies, but both parents were doctors and so wanted to hear his talk on brain surgery and pay their respects to him as a patron of the medical sciences. The two parents and Fleek got into a heated debate about the Universal Pantheon, but they had to set aside their differences when the gondola was attacked by a band of spirits. The pixie-like spirits attempted to cut the gondola cable as punishment for attending Lord Cacophony's speech, but And, Fleek, and But were able to fend them off. In the scuffle, Fleek was poisoned by an arrow, but was able to be healed by the Lizardfolk mother, and the two overcame their differences and gained new respect for each other.   And, Fleek, and But immediately went to the amphitheater when they reached the top of the gondola. There, Lord Cacophony's speech was interrupted early on by a bolt of lightning which struck him and his assistant, Eeks, but the two were unscathed due to an enchanted umbrella carried by Eeks. Lord Cacophony then called for a change of location, and brought his audience with him into a special realm he created with magic. There, he delivered a speech about the gods and his organization, Doniakal. He asked those in the room who wished to contribute to the forefront of science, medicine, and technology to visit the Eternal Tower in Corvuscopia, where they could join Doniakal.   During the speech, But became upset with Lord Cacophony's rhetoric and left. When And and Fleek returned to the Mt. Dawnguard visitor center, however, But was nowhere to be found. And and Fleek needed some exercise after Cacophony's two-hour speech, so they took a walk, ultimately stopping at a viewing station of Zodin's castle on Mt. Zephyr. On their walk, they had an intimate chat about Cacophony, the goals of Doniakal, and the similarities and differences in And and Fleek's religious views. They did not encounter But, so, figuring she must have went back down to Leviathan Lake, they took the gondola down.   Back in Leviathan Lake, And and But saw black smoke rising in the distance and investigated. They found Mme. Silveraxe's manor ablaze, with dead cultists scattered across the area. This reminded them about their business with the People of the Pendulum, and they promptly returned to Quarion Ofandrus's mansion. Faenala and Azazel were already back from their adventure, but Clayton and Auri were nowhere to be found. It was just as they were arriving that a young dwarven boy rushed up to the mansion. And tried to send him away, but Icarus, who was watering the flowers just outside the front door at the time, requested to hear the boy out. The boy informed And and Icarus of the events that transpired with Clayton and Auri during the last session, and that But had been captured by robots.
