Clachthiene
The Northern most island of the Whispering Chain Islands to the west of the Island Continent of Albacarius
Geography
The Island of Clachthiene is Bisected by the Clachthiene summits which runs from the North of the Island to the south east.
A major part of these mountains is the believed dormant peak of Whit-Tara a grand mountain the leers out over the northcoast of the Isle.
Further to the south and east along the range is the Rockius Waters a strech of white water rapids that leads down to the Rockius Falls a large waterfall that cascades down the cliffs and straight out into the Sea of lost hope
The western side of the Island is home to Tanglewind Forest, a once beloved and well tended garden of the Toume people of old who left it in the guardianship of the elves, men and dwarfs they entrusted their lands to.
The Eastern side of the Island is home to Loch Uiseag a great and beautiful freshwater lake, where once it was said the peoples of old stared into its mirror like surface to watch the celestials dance in the dark.
The island has many beautiful beaches, some formed of pristine white sands, while other's are littered with the rocks and pebbles of the sea bed far below.
Ecosystem
Clachthiene belongs within a cooler temperate biome and as such is home to a unique and diverse ecosystem.
The lands of Clachthiene are struck more frequently by the World Storm that encapsulates the Continent of Albacarius as such the already varied and diverse populations have adapted and evolved to deal with the ever changing and "unique" set of enviromental challenges that are posed to the life/s of those on the Isle.
Climate
The Climate of the Isle of Clachthiene is varied due to the nature of the World Storm some 4km from the coast of the Island.
Being a part of a more temperate climate the Island experience high temperatures of around 20/25 degrees in the Spans of the Kezian (summer) and can see temperatures drop to between -10/-5 degrees in the Spans of Auril (winter)
Though it can be said that on the whispering chain, all 8 spans can be present within a day, if not the hour.
Clachthiene often see high winds buffet the island which has led to the western side of the Island, unsheltered by the @Clachthiene summits being far more barren and exposed to the elements while to the east of the Island the lands can be more temperate, if not incredibly wet, as such the eastern side of the Island tends to be the more inhabitated and used for Agriculture.
Fauna & Flora
Clachthiene is home to many types of plants and animals, as well as diverse types of boreal woodlands.
Woodland ecosystems include: Deciduous woodlands, Coniferous and Ancient woodlands
Other ecosystems include Mountain, Peat and Heathlands and Coastal Cliffs.
Unique Species
Coastal Cliffs : Scurries - An enormous variety of the Commonly known "Seagull - Lesser black backed Gull" with a wingspan of well over 10ft it is not uncommon for these avian predators to be seen attacking small fishing vessels, whales and even humaniods of the Islands
Natural Resources
Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing including shellfish production for the cultivation of pearls
Mining of Stone and Minerals such as ; Granite, slate, copper, iron, zinc as well small deposits of agate, quartz and sapphire
Tourism
The island is used as a base of Operations for many wishing to study the storm,its effects, its unique qualities and its vast mysterys. Many travel to the Island from the great schools of Oiche Bha both heliels and alphiel's have small libraries/vaults on the Island along with the Esben Ibsen Institute Of Progress having a building of note in the town of Stormsreach
