Meaning The Bloody Pit in giant is its first and actual name, it is a sunken arena and the walls of it are reinforced with massive giant, and mammoth bones/tusks. It is a large hollowed out pocket that was probably at least in part naturally formed, and reinforced afterwards.Located under the city in the warrens beneath The Frost Slums. It is a difficult place for most to get to, but if you manage to get into the underground, are perceptive and know thieves cant, you will eventually find your way there.The Meat Grinder is a common name that the locals use, as the name is the same as one of the most exciting events that takes place in the arena. A free for all scrap with around 30 people that are all shoved into the ring at the same time, None are allowed weapons or armor of any kind. Before the fight begins a large pile of weapons are put in the center of the arena and once all 20 combatants are in the ring it is a fight till one remains standing. It is somewhat of a shit show to say the least and can have strange outcomes as occasionally pairs or duos will make agreements to fight together once in the ring, but those are usually challenged by other duos. It is also common for the audience to participate in a limited degree, any combatants that could be seen as cowardly or hiding in corners letting others fight and not taking part is always ridiculed and harassed by the crowd, and if they continue to hide the crowd will begin throwing things at the offender, like rotten food, rocks, sharp objects and the like. This is perfectly acceptable and allowed during the meat grinder fights. It is not intended that there be deaths during these fights as it isn’t the goal, but people do die all the time during them.The master of ceremonies at The Bloody Pit - a tall and bulky half orc man, named Sokn, he is a very loud and energetic individual who does the introductions for the fighters and hypes up the crowd before a match. He is not a member of Nox Tempus but he is a friend to them and he isn’t a student or follower of Lady Shade but he is very reverent of her.If the group wishes to make bets on any of the fights they will need to speak with the Nox Tempus bookieThe bookie is an older elven man named Mardos, he sits at a very neat table off to the side of the ring and people form an orderly line to go and place their bets with him. There is a large chalk board behind him on the wall with the listed odds for the fights. He has a dark and slender hobgoblin assistant who hands out the tokens to people for their bets. The assistants name is Thuk.
Behind his table standing to either side there are always two Nox Tempus guards who have their eyes trained on the crowd and the massive lock box chained to the floor between them.The most common guards for this position are Nithyola and her tiefling friend Athos.
There also are an additional 20 regular Nox Tempus thugs within earshot.
