Empire of Timer

The largest empire on Dalkesh, the Empire of Timer sits on the southern coast of the continent and covers areas of lush grassland, dense jungle, bamboo forest and striking mountain ranges.

Structure

The Celestial Empress holds court in Tsindao and her word is followed without question. At least this is the official line of the Timer aristocracy. In truth she has to appease her court of provincial magistrates and leaders of the twelve Celestial Orders.

History

Timer began as a conclave of southern dragons who had an uprising against the hegemony of the gods. Their combined strength proved troublesome to the gods and their plans and the two sides eventually came to an accord. The dragons would rule over the south and in turn they would stop prosecuting their war on the gods. Eight great dragons ruled this land for a thousand years before the cataclysm came and each were killed fighting against fiendish hordes. 
The spirit of the greatest dragon, the jade dragon, is said to remain within Timer and whoever the spirit chooses is to weild the Jade Seal on the Celestial Throne. In reality many have claimed to be inhabited by the spirit and it has been the cause of countless civil wars and somehow the one who wins is always said to have been the true emperor.
