Yvres

The largest and oldest city in Lyssonne. The original city of the conquerors that forged the Kingdom of Lyssonne.
Home to many proud noble houses of Lyssonne who settled there centuries ago. Each of the main six houses are fiercely independent and each rule semi autonomously over districts of the city from large castle-like manors. The largest of these is the Duke's Hold, belonging to the ruling family of Yvres after which the city is named. Within the Duke's Hold is the council's chambers in which the delegates of the six houses meet.
In the three years since the Duke, Vollert d'Yvres, had departed for Ville Lyssonne to marry Queen Iliza de Lyssonne and take up duties as Prince of Lyssonne, his place in the council has been given to his brother Merwyn who, unlike his older brother, has set his sights on the emancipation of the common folk. This has lost him some of House Yvres' oldest allies but also gained him the respect of some that would usually oppose them within the council.
