Session 13: Fight or Flight Report
General Summary
Man, what a totally uneventful day. IT was super relaxing and no one got hurt... except for: THE SHIP THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A GHOST SHIP; SAY WHAT!!! THE GIANT TENTACLE MONSTER THAT SEEMS TO BE REALLY INTO NYX. THE ISLAND THAT WASN'T THERE A SECOND AGO. THE UNDEAD PROSTITUTES THAT CHASED Y'ALL BACK TO THE SHIP. OH YEAH, AND THE SHIP COLLIDING WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED ISLAND. THEN THERE WAS THAT DROWNED MAIDEN THAT REALLY REALLY WANTED TO TAKE NYX HOME, (bowchickawowow). Other than that, yeah, pretty chill. So, y'all saw that ship, debated whether to go after it... Decided "Fuck it, Let's GOOOOO!" And Go you did. You turned towards it and learned that it was an unusual ship called The Phantom Queen. Ambrose "Fishguts" Kroop told you a ghost story which eluded to the idea that it actually was a good thing, but then turned his story around at the last second to whip the crew into a working frenzy when you decided to advance towards future victory (ran away). When L3-37 Redgrave was looking around, he spotted an Island you could have sworn was not there earlier in the day. Between lightning flashes during the storm which seemed to be afflicting you now, the island just kind of showed up out of nowhere. It was about that time you all heard the groaning of a massive beast and felt the swell of the ocean as it surfaced. It swallowed the Phantom Queen whole, and the water forced your ship to collide with the island. L3 was the only one to sustain almost fatal injuries, falling from the Crow's nest, but Vivienne was able to catch him in the nick of time, or the Nyx of time (hehe)? Anyway, so Martin d'Jorasco and Sandara Quinn played doctor with the crew, and Martin imposed a strict no drug policy which all crew members were allegedly made aware of prior to joining the crew. We'll see how that holds up in a court of law, but needless to say; garnished wages are definitely going to help offset the cost of maintaining the crew. Nyx heard the whispers yet again, and noticed a rock formation on the island which looked like her. Extremely disturbed and curious, she lept to the beach and was joined by Vivienne as they decided to investigate the island, alone, splitting the party, by themselves, so smart, not dangerous at all, yup, it turned out great! Surprising no-one, they were set upon by 3 Ghoul-ish (see what I did there) former (probably) prostitutes (I mean, maybe they're still down to tumble). You killed them (did not stop them before) but first you ran back to the ship and played some guerilla games of stab-and-run. The rest of the crew offered aid at this point, but it was soon discovered that there was not just the Ghouls, but that Drowned Maiden from a previous episode. The group engaged in fistacuffs, with the tide crashing into the coast, the lightning making things look dramatic, and the darkness making it that much harder to see. Eventually you managed to take it down, but not before learning it REALLY wanted to take Nyx with it back into the ocean. It managed to kill almost everyone that engaged it in melee, but thanks to some quick inspirational thinking, you were able to defeat it. The body Dissappeared, and a spectral (not ghostly, spectral; totally different, different spectrums, maybe philosophies too who knows?) twin of Nyx (or maybe Gwyn) now stands before you...
