XXXII. Epilogue

General Summary

After preventing the Ashmaker from detonating in Ivargrad, the party members were lauded as the heroes of the Empire.   After days of celebration, Alizeh, Dev and Valoryn were approached by Iorvus Great-Dane and offered positions in the Hounds of Stal. Valoryn accepted, liking the idea of moving his way up through the ranks and eventually taking over the organization for himself while making use of its network to try and find Nightshade's mate, Obsidian. Alizeh also accepted, figuring that while her sister protected the Empire from in the light, she could serve it from the shadows. Dev declined, unwilling to take part in espionage for the state when he could just do whatever he wanted.   The Orcs the party had helped liberate from the Hill Giants, and who were now living in the abandoned stronghold, proved to be a concern for the Princes. The party volunteered to find a peaceful solution. They offered Vy'Thek’s tribe the option to join the Empire as a mercenary group: putting their inclination towards violence to work for the state.   While there, Kohinoor asked Regen to resurrect Gault. Though it had been several days since he died, his body had not decomposed at all thanks to the Gentle Repose spell Kohinoor had cast on him before his funeral. As Regen completed the ritual, Kohinoor whispered a plea into Gault's ear, trying to convince him to return to life: ever since Baui had refused to return, she worried that Gault might as well.   Gault indeed awoke, to the joy of those who had known him before. The next night, he approached Kohinoor and told her he had heard her message. He requested to pledge his life to her service, which she accepted with great surprise. Gault now accompanies Kohi as her Man-at-Arms and personal guard.   Back in Ivargrad, Mathazar opened a shop, where he still sells merchandise of Achilla and the Shields.   Akwele continued adventuring, accompanied by Dev. Achilla chose to retire, but that would end up being short-lived. Restless without activity, she went on to join Akwele and Dev as well. The group intended to investigate the mystery of where the Ashmaker ended up, which Alizeh and Valoryn likely would have assisted with as well. Kohinoor was not able to join, as she needed to return to her duties now that their quest was over--duties as an Imperial Dignitary to the city of Felstadt...
