PROXY possessed numerous abilities thanks to the impressive array of equipment built into his body.

His primary ability was his holographic capability, allowing him to assume the appearance and voice of nearly any humanoid life form. Thanks to his interface to both the HoloNet and Imperial records, PROXY could provide a biographical and psychological profile on nearly any being, and he was able to use his holographic skills in conjunction with his HoloNet interface to act as a communication device. To this end, he frequently impersonated Vader, an action that he disliked, though he has acted as the audio/visual presence for many other notables.
Another of PROXY's skills was his ability to essentially mimic telekinesis through the use of a series of repulsors and tractor beams built into his body. His usage of this equipment was impressive, as he proved able to accurately replicate Force pushes and pulls, and even pull off a lightsaber throw. This ability served to reinforce PROXY's primary capability.
Thanks to his onboard tactical computers, his combat training and programming, and the abundance of reference material provided by his access to the classified levels of Imperial records, PROXY was able to develop combat modules that accurately recreated numerous Force-using duelists. All of these modules were created for the purpose of attacking his master, and his application of these modules was deadly. However, while his skills and capabilities enabled him to hold his own against Marek for a time, he was unable to defeat him due to his lack of Force ability.
PROXY wielded an antique lightsaber provided by Vader in combat,[5] and possessed many others besides,[4] including a double-bladed lightsaber.[3] He kept his weapons stored in his chassis when not in use.[4]
Combat Modules
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Categorized as "Training Module J-3", PROXY's Obi-Wan Kenobi program was one of his oldest, and in PROXY's opinion, his deadliest.[2] The module replicated Kenobi's mastery of Soresu with such accuracy that Marek used it as reference when he began studying the style. Despite the module's lethality, Marek proved able to defeat it with relative ease, and Vader brought it down quickly (albeit after a small pause at seeing his old "master").[5]
Anakin Skywalker: One of PROXY's most high-quality modules, this program was a highly accurate recreation of Anakin Skywalker's fighting style. PROXY effectively imitated Skywalker's mastery of both Form V variants, and PROXY also put his own spin on it by adding Juyo to the mix. However, as Marek had already fought real Jedi when PROXY unveiled this module, he didn't find it to be a genuine challenge, though he was impressed by the quality.[5]
Qui-Gon Jinn: PROXY demonstrated incredible agility and aggression when utilizing this module, imitating Qui-Gon Jinn's mastery of Ataru. However, while the module was very well done, its effectiveness was compromised by PROXY's inability to use the Force and the lack of space in which they fought, both of which were required to effectively utilize Ataru. Despite its lack of effectiveness against him, Marek was impressed by the modules detail and level of quality.[5]

Rahm Kota, Maris Brood, Shaak Ti, Emperor's Shadow Guard: These modules provided accurate replications of the actual abilities of the various duelists. However, Marek's experience against the real individuals rendered these imitations ineffective. While PROXY likely based the combat styles of Kota, Brood and Ti off of classified records from the Jedi Archives, it remains unknown how he gained the necessary reference material to create his Shadow Guard module.[6]
Darth Maul: A module PROXY stored for years before unveiling, his Darth Maul program was accurate, though slightly exaggerated. While he faithfully replicated Maul's Juyo technique, PROXY made heavy usage of his imitation Force powers while using the module,[6] such as Saber Throw, one of Maul's most effective Force abilities.[9][10] While PROXY's use of the module was able to catch Marek off guard, he was unable to defeat his master with it.[6]
Juno Eclipse, Galen Marek: PROXY never actually used these modules against Marek, only inadvertently revealing them while he scrolled through his memory banks. It remains unknown what their capabilities are, though the Eclipse module at least was likely just a facade for psychological warfare purposes while PROXY applied a more effective combat style.[5] Sometime after his reactivation on Corellia, his holoprojectors malfunctioned, leaving him unable to drop the image of Galen Marek. Juno Eclipse had him deactivated until repair was possible, as her infatuation with Marek made PROXY's forced imitation of him highly disturbing to her.[8]
Jango Fett: Rahm Kota described this module as PROXY's "worst," which likely meant that it was extremely deadly. He had been equipped with a WESTAR-34 blaster pistol, the favored weapon of the original Jango Fett. The module included accurate marksmanship with the pistol and formidable physical combat skills, enough so that PROXY was able to (temporarily) defeat Boba Fett with the module. Whether PROXY actually used it against Galen Marek is unknown.[7]
Boba Fett: PROXY presumably stored this module when Fett attacked the Salvation. When Starkiller went after Juno, PROXY flashed Fett's image to warn him. It is unknown if he stored any combat information, or just his image.

Mentality

Personal history

Tho Yor
Around 36,453 BBY, a group of the native Wookiees entered a Tho Yor which visited the planet. This Tho Yor and those which visited other planets traveled to Tython, where the Je'daii Order, the earliest incarnation of the Jedi Order, was soon founded by the beings brought there by the Tho Yor. The Wookiees eventually moved off of Tython and settled the forest world of Ska Gora.[36]

At some point after the departure of the Tho Yor, Kashyyyk was taken over by the Rakatan Infinite Empire. Its surface was terraformed by the Rakata for agricultural purposes, but the collapse of their empire left their terraforming machines unattended, resulting in the planet's abnormally large foliage.[7]
Czerka Corporation and slavery
In 4020 BBY, Kashyyyk was discovered by Czerka Corporation, which renamed the planet first G5-623 and then, after a poll of stockholders, Edean. They recognized the Wookiees' strength and began to enslave them. In 3993 BBY during the Great Hunt, the Jedi Guun Han Saresh died on the planet fighting a terentatek.[37]
During the Mandalorian Wars, the Mandalorians considered conquering Kashyyyk, although they eventually decided against it; their plans for assault included burning down huge sections of forest and glassing entire continents in order to actually create a place to fight. Sometime after the Mandalorian Wars began, self-exiled Jedi Jolee Bindo made his home on the forest floor of Kashyyyk. In 3976 BBY, Zaalbar, a Wookiee who later aided Jedi Revan, had been banished from Kashyyyk and his brother, Chuundar, usurped the position of Chieftain from his father, Freyyr. Chuundar allowed the Czerka to take Wookiees as slaves in exchange for weapons. Freyyr went into self-exile to the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk. Czerka's control of "Edean" was disrupted when, in 3956 BBY, the enslaved Wookiee populace, led by Freyyr and Revan, overthrew the local corporate headquarters and drove all outsiders off the planet, save for the Ebon Hawk crew.[7]
Old Republic

It was presumably some time after this that Kashyyyk decided to join the Galactic Republic. The Wookiees reverse-engineered the hyperdrive from a Trandoshan vessel. They were welcomed into the Republic through dealings with the Corellians, Verpine, and Alderaanians.
During the time of the Cold War, a proxy conflict between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic, one of the oldest wroshyr trees on Kashyyyk—reportedly millennia old—was dying, and eventually someone was sent to examine its rings and learn more about the planet's history.[38] Around the same time, an eccentric hermit that lived on Kashyyyk gave up his isolation and rewarded those that managed to solve his old riddles.[39]
In 1,003 BBY during the New Sith Wars, the planet was conquered by the Brotherhood of Darkness.[40]
Eventually, Kashyyyk was represented in the Galactic Senate, with Senator Yarua being the last Kashyyyk representative prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars. The Wookiees colonized both of the major moons of Kashyyyk, as well as other worlds in the system such as Alaris Prime.
A few years after the Invasion of Naboo, the Wookiee Trade Guild attempted to tax the Trade Federation for goods passed through the Kashyyyk system. An army of B2 super battle droids, led by Count Dooku, arrived at the Wookiee Trade Guild's headquarters and disbanded it.[8]

At the start of the Clone Wars, Kashyyyk remained non-aligned. During the Dark Reaper Project of 22 BBY, the Force Harvester found by Count Dooku on Raxus Prime was tested on the neighboring world of Alaris Prime, but all of the Separatists were forced off the moon afterward, ending the immediate Separatist threat to the system.[20] A small attack on Kashyyyk itself occurred some time later, but this too was repelled, and Kashyyyk retained its non-aligned posture eighteen months into the Clone Wars.
The decision on what role the planet would play in the conflict was left in the hands of a number of Wookiee Royal Families, acting through a council dominated by King Grakchawwaa. He initially advocated neutrality, engaging in limited negotiations with both the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which wished to control hyperspace route planning and to use the Wookiees' secret trade routes to disrupt Republic trade and communication, giving them the advantage in the war.
However, in 21 BBY, General Grievous grew tired of waiting and ordered the Trade Federation officials to launch several probe droids to help 'persuade' Grakchawwaa to make the right decision. He was on the verge of agreeing to join the Confederacy out of self-preservation, when news came that his son, Prince Rikummee, had accidentally been killed by the droids. In anger he allied himself with the Republic, ultimately forcing the Separatists to mount a massive invasion in the closing stages of the war.

In 19 BBY, a rescue mission led by Jedi General Etain Tur-Mukan and RC-1138, was in the process to rescue Chieftain Tarfful held captive by Trandoshans.[41] The mission was carried out by Commandos of the Delta Squad, who increasingly found more separatist collaborationist among the neighboring Trandoshans than they thought, including General Grievous.[42] In response, the Republic dispatched a task force led by Master Yoda and Clone Commander Gree to defend Kashyyyk. At the coastal city of Kachirho, a combined force of clone troopers and Wookiees fought against the Separatist droid invaders, with Yoda himself participating in the battle. Despite the overwhelming Separatist forces, the Republic and the Wookiees emerged victorious from the Battle of Kashyyyk, though taking very heavy casualties.[17] Not long afterward, the secretly married Jedi couple of Kento and Mallie Marek took refuge on Kashyyyk, and the pregnant Mallie gave birth to Galen on Kashyyyk.[43]
Galactic Empire and slavery

However, victory was short-lived for the Wookiees. With the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Jedi were branded enemies of the Republic/Empire as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, secretly Darth Sidious, made himself Emperor and initiated Order 66. The clone troopers then took control of Kashyyyk, killing Luminara Unduli, sending Quinlan Vos into hiding, and forcing Yoda to kill Gree and discreetly escape from the battle on a Can-cell. Later Yoda escaped the planet, with the help of Tarfful and Chewbacca via a former Republic escape pod.[17] The Empire was quick to suppress Kashyyyk by renaming it "Wookiee Planet C" (as it was the third orbit in its system) and placed it under martial law.
Several months later, a group of Jedi including Olee Starstone went to Kashyyyk to search for the other Jedi who had been there. The Empire, led by Darth Vader, tracked them and attacked the planet. In response, the Wookiees rebelled against their oppressors, but were ultimately unsuccessful. Clone troopers attempted to land, but many were shot down by abandoned Confederate weaponry utilized by the Wookiees. Darth Vader landed and killed two Jedi before being stopped by Master Roan Shryne, who also died at Vader's hand. The orbital fleet bombarded the planet, causing severe damage on the surface. Wookiees either escaped into the undergrowth or into space, where they were stopped by a Detainer CC-2200 interdictor cruiser. Starstone had slicer Filli Bitters slice into an abandoned CIS ship and crash it into the interdictor cruiser. Many refugees escaped, including Starstone and her Jedi friends, Filli and his smuggling group, and Chewbacca. The Empire occupied the planet, allowing then-Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, one of the Imperial commanders that participated in the battle, to capture and export Wookiees as slave labor to Despayre, in order to help construct the First Death Star.[44]
In 18 BBY, Mallie Marek was killed by the remnant of the droids and Trandoshans from the battle a year prior. Almost immediately, her death caused Palpatine to sense Kento's presence on Kashyyyk, thus he sent Vader to eliminate him. Vader and his troops met heavy resistance from the local Wookiee population, but ultimately the 501st Legion succeeded in crushing the uprising. During the battle, Vader bested and killed Kento Marek. Upon discovering his opponent's son Galen Marek, whom he found to be extremely powerful in the Force, Vader exterminated all witnesses, including the stormtrooper commander, and went on to train the boy as his secret apprentice.[43]
During the occupation, Kashyyyk was opened by the Imperial authorities to slavers from neighboring Trandosha and Mytaranor. At the advice of the Trandoshans, the Empire began using the powerful Wookiees to carry out slave labor. Wookiee captives were used for countless Imperial projects, including the Maw Installation. However, because of their devotion to their homeworld, many Wookiees would evade the Imperial garrison there to revisit their beloved forests for important Wookiee holidays such as Life Day.
In 2 BBY, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan was secretly sent by Emperor Palpatine to be held as a hostage on the planet, in order to keep her adoptive father from speaking out against the Empire. Leia was placed under custody of the local commander, Captain Ozzik Sturn, who used to hunt Wookiees for sport, and confined in her private quarters. Eventually, she was rescued by Galen Marek, himself on a mission by Jedi Master Rahm Kota to track down Bail Organa. Leia promised to reveal the location of her father, but only if Galen was able to destroy a skyhook, which was designed to transfer Wookiees offworld for slave labor. Galen headed to the construction site, slaying Captain Sturn and destroying the skyhook. According to Galen however, "the Empire would just rebuild it." Grateful for Galen's heroic deeds, Leia informed him that Bail had journeyed to Felucia, causing a chain of events that culminated in the signing of the Corellian Treaty.[43]
Later, after Marek's death at the hands of Emperor Palpatine, Leia Organa met with Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Garm Bel Iblis, Rahm Kota, Juno Eclipse and PROXY. In which they formed the Rebel Alliance. Leia picked a symbol for the Alliance, the symbol of the Marek family, in a tribute to Galen Marek, his family and his victories against the Empire.[6]

One year after the destruction of the first Death Star, Kashyyyk had been subjected to a long orbital blockade. Darth Vader ordered a door-to-door curfew in order to apprehend every Rebel, eventually hoping to get his hands on the crew of the Millennium Falcon. However, the Imperials were defeated by Lumpawaroo on Rwookrrorro, and subsequently, the Wookiees, along with the local Alliance members, celebrated Life Day.[14] During the blockade, the Rebel Alliance attempted to liberate the planet but its invasion force was ambushed by the Empire and totally destroyed in Kashyyyk space.[45]
Moff Hindane Darcc, the Imperial governor of Kashyyyk who ruled the planet from his private palace, forged a pact with the Trandoshan slaver Pekt, appointing him to oversee the entire slaving operation. They had finally installed Avatar Orbital Platform in orbit of the planet, to help further enslavement of the Wookiees.[6]
The New Republic
After the Battle of Endor, the Wookiees were freed from slavery by the Alliance of Free Planets. The Nagai then attempted to enslave the species, but they were repulsed by the New Republic. However, the Wookiees' freedom was short-lived. The Empire, having licked its wounds, quickly reestablished a presence on Kashyyyk and enslaved the Wookiees once more. Around 5 ABY Han Solo and Chewbacca assisted in inciting a revolution among the populace, helped in part by Lando Calrissian, Rogue Squadron,[6] and Admiral Gial Ackbar. Governor Darcc, Pekt and Grand Admiral Peccati Syn were killed during the battle.
Kashyyyk was represented in the New Republic Senate by Kerrithrarr, and the planet became a key signatory and member world of the Inner Council. The planet also welcomed trade, and its city of Thikkiiana became a major exporter of computer technology. However, this made it a target of the agents of the Second Imperium in 23 ABY. A task force under Zekk raided Thikkiiana's computer stores for use by the Second Imperium in its Post-Galactic Civil War against the New Republic.
Galactic Alliance
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Kashyyyk would be an important member world of the New Republic and, later, the Galactic Alliance. After the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar at the end of the Yuuzhan Vong occupation, celebrations took place on Kashyyyk.
Second Galactic Civil War

It later refused to follow Chief of State Jacen Solo in the year 40 ABY, sheltering the Jedi, who had declared themselves against Solo, so it was attacked by his fleet as a result. Solo's flagship, the Anakin Solo, began targeting the Kashyyyk forests with its long-range turbolasers, starting a firestorm that would claim the lives of many Wookiees and burn huge amounts of forest. The Confederation redirected fleets from the Battle of Kuat to help the Wookiees, resulting in the eventual defeat of the Galactic Alliance forces, although they managed to escape, due to a tactical blunder by the Confederation Fleet. As a result, Kashyyyk joined the Jedi Coalition, though it did not join the Confederation.[33]
Second Imperial Civil War
Following its take over of the Galactic Alliance in 130 ABY, Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire saw danger in Wookiees, but knew better than to enslave the entire species like it did as Darth Sidious' Galactic Empire. Instead it cut them off from the rest of the galaxy by having Kashyyyk blockaded and all Wookiee spaceports and shipyards destroyed. No Wookiees were allowed to leave or visit Kashyyyk without an Imperial order and HoloNet transmissions to the planet were completely cut off. Supplies and traders still could come and go, after swearing under penalty of death to the Empire not to provide Wookiees with information of the state of the rest of the galaxy, but the Wookiees themselves were completely isolated and largely left alone throughout the region.[46]
 
Ancient history
According to Kaminoan mythology, the god-beast Protas ruled over all the oceans in a time before that dawn of the second sun. His claim was unsuccessfully challenged first by the great titan Melkorr then the legion Kikla. Bolstered by these victories, Protas become arrogant and prevented an Aiwha Pod from migrating to warmer waters. Unable to survive in the cold winter waters, the Aiwha fought Protas and gained victory through the self-sacrifice of one of their own.[11]
Early history
Around 19,000 BBY, dramatic climate shifts began to melt the extensive glaciers of Kamino. As a result of resourceful adaptation, the Kaminoans survived the Great Flood of their planet's continents. The Kaminoans used cloning to keep themselves sustained.
Jedi Order
Throughout its history, the location and very existence of Kamino was known to only a handful of beings, becoming known to members of the Galactic Republic as late as 4500 BBY. In 3996 BBY, following the devastation of Ossus, a number of artifacts saved from Ossus were hidden in the ruins of Derem City by Jedi Master Qalsneek the Bull. After the Jedi Civil War, Kaminoan kyber darts were being used in the galaxy, but most beings were ignorant of their source. Kamino was able to survive through the worst ages in the galaxy before the Clone Wars.
New technology
In later years, the Kaminoans created saberdarts, similar to the older kyber dart. These deadly weapons were favored by bounty hunter Jango Fett. The Kaminoans created clone miners to toil on Subterrel. While prospecting on Subterrel, Dexter Jettster became familiar with the Kaminoan cloners, and even found a saberdart.[7]

In 32 BBY, Sifo-Dyas placed an order with the Kaminoans for a Clone Army without the knowledge or approval of the Jedi Council. Darth Tyranus, at the bidding of Darth Sidious, murdered Sifo-Dyas to keep the creation of this army secret from the Jedi and the Republic. Tyranus then recruited Jango Fett to serve as Prime clone. Fett agreed on the condition that the Kaminoans create him an unaltered clone, his son Boba Fett.[12] Jango raised Boba on Kamino for the next ten years.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was directed there[7] in 22 BBY[12] to follow a lead on the whereabouts of Senator Padmé Amidala's would-be assassin through a single saberdart. The saberdart had been used by Jango Fett to murder Zam Wesell before she could be interrogated by Kenobi. Kenobi had the dart identified by Dexter Jettster. Jettster directed him to Kamino, and Obi-Wan and Yoda were disturbed that Kamino had apparently been erased from the Jedi Archives. During Obi-Wan's stay on Kamino at Tipoca City, he discovered the source of the Clone Army's genome, Jango Fett, and his "son," Boba Fett. Once he was discovered, Jango and Boba narrowly escaped the planet with Obi-Wan close behind.[7]

Grand Master Yoda then went to the planet to receive a desperately needed contingent of clone troopers to assist in the rescue of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, and the Jedi Knights in the Battle of Geonosis, which began the infamous Clone Wars.[4] When the Separatists discovered the source of the clones, Commander Merai launched an attack on Kamino at the bidding of Passel Argente, but the First Battle of Kamino, 22 BBY, was won by the Republic.[14] In the Second Battle of Kamino there was an attempt by Mandalore the Resurrector and his Mandalorians to destroy a cloning facility, but it was foiled by the clone trooper garrison. A further attempt was made by the Confederacy at some time after the second Battle of Kamino to capture and destroy the cloning facilities, but this plan was prevented due to the actions of clone troopers at a nearby monitoring station.[15] After the Battle of the Rishi moon, Separatist leaders, General Grievous and Commander Asajj Ventress, launched an attack on Kamino to capture a sample of Jango Fett's DNA. The attack force was turned back by elements of the Open Circle Fleet and clone troopers garrisoned there.[16]
Fighting the Empire
"Officially, there never was a 'clone rebellion' on Kamino. Unofficially, approximately twenty years after we were created, a special detachment of the Imperial 501st Legion was dispatched to Kamino, with orders to eradicate an army of clones that had been bred to take arms against the Empire."

The end of the Clone Wars resulted not only in the near destruction of the Jedi Order as well as the defeat of the Separatists, but also the rise of the Galactic Empire in the place of the fallen Republic. Seeking to secure the vital cloning facilities that were responsible for providing the Empire with the clones that helped to secure Emperor Palpatine's rise to ultimate power, Imperial control was firmly established upon Kamino through force of arms. Although Kamino would continue to grow more stormtroopers for the Empire, a small group of Kaminoans grew resentful of the Empire's treatment of Kamino as a virtual military police state. In response to the Imperial presence on their world, the Kaminoans launched a covert rebellion against the Empire by discreetly breeding a new army of clones, all based on the genetic template of Jango Fett. Unlike the first Clone army that had been bred for the Republic, the newest generation of clones were engineered with absolute loyalty to Kamino.[9]
Over the next decade after the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the Anti-Imperial Clone troopers were grown and trained to eventually liberate Kamino from Imperial rule. Garbed in Phase I armor and composed entirely of Jet troopers, the Anti-Imperial clones were augmented with a series of ARC troopers, as well as a few LAAT gunships. Approximately twenty years after creating the first generation of clones based on the Fett template, the Anti-troopers were fully grown, armed and evidently prepared to fight against their Imperial brothers.[9]
Around the same time, however, the Empire discovered Kamino's clandestine operation and responded by sending an elite detachment of the 501st Legion to Kamino in order to destroy the Kaminoan rebellion and restore Imperial rule to its cloning centers. The 501st's main target was Kamino's capital, the Tipoca City Cloning Facility, by then occupied by the Kaminoan rebels and their Anti-troopers. Boba Fett, also a clone of the long-dead Jango Fett, was hired to serve as the 501st's mission commander during the re-taking of Kamino, due to his extensive knowledge of the inner layout and workings of Tipoca City. To prevent any chances of encouraging other insurrections throughout the galaxy, the mission to Kamino was completely off the record.[9]
The entire battle was virtually lost to the Anti-troopers from the start. Despite their advanced training, the younger Fett clones were outmatched by their older and more experienced Imperial brothers, none of whom held any reservations about gunning down their fellow clones. Aside from possessing many veteran troopers from the Clone Wars and superior firepower, the 501st Legion was greatly assisted by Boba Fett: the bounty hunter commanded his forces on site and led the stormtroopers into Tipoca City, killing the Anti-troopers where ever they encountered them.[9]
Unwilling to risk losing what remained of Jango Fett's blood, the main source for producing the Fett clones, one of the 501st's primary objectives was to capture a container that held a sample of Fett's DNA. After storming Tipoca City and retrieving the container, the 501st brought their progenitor's blood sample to a landing platform an Imperial shuttle awaited them. From there, the shuttle took Fett's DNA off planet to safety while the 501st fought on against their rebel brethren. After gaining further ground from outside the city, the 501st went on to fulfill its next primary objective—destroying the Kaminoan life support systems in order to kill all of the rebel clones that had not yet been decanted, thus preventing the Kaminoans from raising more Anti-troopers against the Empire in the future. Despite being protected by a numerous elite ARC troopers, the rebel clones failed to prevent the 501st from killing the undeveloped clones within the facility.[9]

After securing most of Tipoca City from the inside, Boba Fett and the 501st Legion proceeded to crowd the remaining Anti-troopers and ARC troopers onto the platforms where they were brutally wiped out. As the fighting dragged on, the Kaminoan rebel leaders saw the hopelessness of their situation and attempted to retreat by utilizing their LAAT gunships. Their efforts were in vain, however, as the 501st managed to destroy both gunships, along with the Kaminoan traitors as well. When the battle came to an end, none of the rebel clones were left alive. With his assignment completed, Boba Fett left the 501st Legion to mop up on Kamino while he returned to deal with his own personal affairs as a bounty hunter.[9]
Although the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion proved their loyalty to the Galactic Empire once again, the circumstances surrounding the battle convinced Emperor Palpatine that a clone army, composed entirely of clones based on one genetic source, was too susceptible to corruption. From that point on, it was decided that new clone stormtroopers would be created from various templates;[9] the Empire even resorted to enlisting regular Humans into the Stormtrooper Corps.[8] Though the 501st Legion remained composed purely of Jango Fett's progeny for the time being, the rest of the Imperial Army became increasingly diverse through an ever-growing pool of enlisted troopers and alternative source clones.[9]
Thus, the "Clone Revolt" on Kamino was indirectly responsible for turning the clones of Jango Fett into a minority within the army that they once filled as a whole, an irony that the Fett clones neither appreciated nor ever grew accustomed to. Roughly a decade after the incident on Kamino, Commander Cody was bitterly resentful of the Imperial Army's pitiful decline in operational effectiveness. In addition to that, Cody absolutely hated enlisted stormtroopers, dismissing them as incompetent idiots that were utterly expendable.[8]

In the year 1 BBY, shortly after the start of the Galactic Civil War, the Sith Lord Darth Vader secretly brought the deceased body of his fallen apprentice, Galen Marek, to Kamino. With Marek's corpse preserved as a source of genetic material, Vader utilized an experimental version of Kaminoan cloning technology, known as the Accelerated Cloning Process, in an attempt to create a far more powerful version of his former disciple. Deep within the Timira City Cloning Facility, Vader personally oversaw the secret project, determined to possess once more an assassin of Marek's caliber.[8]
But due to the inherent flaws in creating clones of Force-sensitive subjects, the first series of Marek's clones were grotesquely deformed and highly unstable. After months of painstakingly correcting the imperfections in the procedure, each clone after another was somewhat more stable than the last, thus forcing Vader to train many clones in a "trial and error" process until finally achieving the creation of a single perfect clone to replace the original apprentice. Although one clone managed to escape from Kamino after failing to purge himself of the imprinted emotions that he gained from Marek, Vader recalled Boba Fett to Kamino and tasked the bounty hunter with luring the rogue clone back to his homeworld.[8]
Despite losing the clone that was very nearly the first success of the entire project, Darth Vader's efforts were finally rewarded in the form of a unique clone who did not fail to meet any of the Sith Lord's expectations. Just like the rest of the clones that came before him, however, the latest clone was also haunted by the imprinted memories and emotions of his dead progenitor. But unlike his precursors, the clone was absolutely determined to prove his worthiness by becoming free of his former self's feelings through a combination of strong will and constant training on Kamino. As the clone all but completed his trials, he emerged as his own person with a deep sense of resentment over his former self's weaknesses and failures. With the perfect clone of the original Starkiller at his service, Vader ended the cloning project on Kamino in victory.[8]

Meanwhile, Boba Fett succeeded in bringing Starkiller, the renegade clone who had been dubbed by his progenitor's former codename, back to Kamino by taking Captain Juno Eclipse as a hostage. As Starkiller unleashed an onslaught of destruction on Kamino and throughout Timira City, the clone's Rebel allies engaged Kamino's Imperial garrison in a brutal fight in space and on the planet. Although both Boba Fett and the Dark Apprentice remained in reserve to intervene on Vader's behalf only if absolutely necessary, the Empire was defeated in the Battle of Kamino, which also resulted in the capture of Darth Vader after being spared by a most reluctant Starkiller. Although the Rebels' had neither the resources or the manpower to liberate and hold onto the planet, the victory on Kamino marked the Rebellion as a legitimate threat to the Galactic Empire. After destroying Timira City by causing a tsunami wave to obliterate the cloning facility, the Rebels departed to the secret rebel base on Dantooine, unaware that Fett was pursuing the Rebels and their valuable hostage in his ship.[8]

In that same year, Urai Fen, concerned with the Zann Consortium's survival after they stole Jabba the Hutt's artifact, moved the Consortium's base of operations to Kamino for a time before settling on Ryloth.[17]
The era of the New Republic

After the Battle of Endor, the collapse of the Empire triggered an economic collapse of Kamino and the production of clones eventually ended. The planet continued to survive on smaller contracts, often for warlords and criminal organizations.[1]
Years later, Kaminoan Taun We would seek revenge against the Mandalorians who attacked them during the Clone Wars by hiring Boba Fett to kill Fenn Shysa, the last remaining Mandalorian veteran of the Second Battle of Kamino.
In 40 ABY, Boba Fett traveled here to consult his doctor and was told that he was dying. The only being who could heal him was Ko Sai, a scientist who had invented the accelerated aging process. She had disappeared after the First Battle of Kamino. He decided to hunt down Taun We, who had defected more recently. The current Prime Minister of Kamino, Koa Ne, offered to pay him to return Taun We's data to them. Boba Fett refused after Koa Ne would not pay his exorbitant price, stating that he would sell the data to the highest bidder.
