Personal history

Born in Greensfield, in the Ushank Kingdom, Murray was the son of a poacher, illegally hunting game in the Emerald woods. As a teenager, he and his father were captured by the Lord of a neighbouring town, who they had been poaching from. In return for sparing their lives, Murray and his father were conscripted into a skirmishers regiment, as the kingdom had come under attack from a raiding force of Lizard-folk.
Murray's regiment helped the kings forces repel the Lizard-folk invaders, but his father was killed when the regiment was outflanked by mounted Lizard-folk cavalry.
As thanks for their service, the regiment was disbanded and the bowmen were allowed to return to their lives.
With no real home to go to, after the death of his father, and a desire to do more woith his life, Murray left the Kingdom of Ushank and headed south, employing his arcehery skills to pay his way.
 
several years later, A mercenary band had entered the town Murray was currently staying in. with an offer from their leader, Helga Stormchild, Murray joined the mercenaries as they marched on toward Ondos.
After the city was saved, Helga announced a new mission for her warband, to go and explore the fabled ghost Archipelago, in search of the Crystal pool. the additional promise of riches to be found in the isles, ensured other like Murray kept on.

Education

Murray has very little education. he can neither read, nor write, but has good knowledge of animals and the use of the bow, taught by his father and learned from his own travels.
