We are in the underground dwarven cavern. We just defeated a trex and have made our way down. Leland is talking to Tempest in the block of ice. He has an idea that their weapons are linked and he touches his weapon to the ice, and the ice freezes him and thaws out Tempest. Tempest is dead and Lufere reincarnates him. Tempest hears the voice of Moradin and he says "Return to us" and Tempest comes back as a Mountain Dwarf.
We start to make our way and find traps of lava. We find a skeleton on the ground stuck in armor. As Lyra searches him, his eyes light up yellow and he starts to try an attack. However, he's not strong enough to get out of the armor. Tempest and Lufere disassemble him piece by piece throwing him into the lava.
Tempest hears the voice of Moriden in his head and I guess Moriden wants us to clear out this place. Tempest takes the magical armor that the skeleton was wearing.
We explore some more and encounter a Zombie Clot and some zombie ogres. Lufir summons a fire elemental. At one point in the fight the fire elemental speaks in primordial. Something about recognizing Lyra. Tempest is the only one who can understand this, but does not share this information.
After we finish the fight The fire elemental points at Faenore and says he recognizes him too in primordial. From the city of brass. Tempest doesn't tell anyone, and he and Lufir immediately try to get rid of it.
However, their attempts fail. Tempests asks what it's going on about. Apparently, when we destroyed the heart, it created this specific elemental. The heart looks like a clear diamond on fire. However, the elemental is pissed because Tempest tried to banish it, so we roll initiative. Dammit Tempest.
Lyra tries to defuse the situation, but because it cannot understand her, She is not successful. We are forced to fight, and we learn that if the elemental takes damage Lyra and Faenore takes damage also. The elemental tells Tempest that once he kills them, he's taking Faenore and Lyra.
Tempest tries to take the heart right out of the elemental's chest. He crits on this and is able to take the heart. This puts out the flame of the elemental.
As Tempest holds this heart, it envelops him in flames. Tempest then opens a portal to the fire plane and throws the heart in. As he does this. Fiery rope comes out of the portal wrapping around Lyra. The fiery heart starts to try and meld into her chest. As this happens, Faenor runs over, looks at her and says he has to do this. He takes the heart forcing it into his own chest. Faenore is enveloped in flames.
As Faenore disappears into flame an elemental named Dexa takes over. Lyra tries to embrace the flames because she can't imagine a life without Faenore and Faenore appears for just a moment pushing her away. Faenore/Dexa runs towards the portal and Lyra tries to follow them into the portal, and Faenore appears again, punches Lyra causing her to fly back, and he disappears into the plane of fire. Tempest closes the portal and Lyra pleads with him to stop. Lyra falls to the ground as the love of her life disappeared behind the closed portal.
Lyra is absolutely devastated and enraged at Tempest. She gathers herself though, Hazel heals her up and with all the rage and anger she feels from Faenor she is determined to carry on and find a way to save Faenor.
We find a library. It mostly has books on forging and blacksmithing, but Tempest does find a book on cold diamonds written in dwarvish that he gives to Lyra. Maybe this can help with Faenor.
We find a mystery key in a secret compartment, a few books and spell scrolls.
We find some clay dwarf golems. We determine that they will only attack us if we open the one day that warns that if it is opened, the guardians will activate.
We find another room with all sorts of things. There is a puzzle box with some kind of bird egg in it. It's not a bird we can identify though.
The egg is incredibly hot and there are cinders around it. The box seems to be immune to fire that the egg is producing. Tempest decides to keep the egg. If you touch it, it does a decent amount of fire damage to you.
We find a hollow metal tube about 1 ft long and it's 51lbs. It looks like a wind chime. Lyra identifies it as a Chime of Opening. Lufir takes it.
Tempest finds a note that says "I finally figured it out. There are 5 phases. How could I be so dumb?" It looks like it was written by Duran. IN that same room there are 5 symbols that light up on the wall when Lyra moves a certain book. They say
Sacred Pure Metal
Cleansing
Hammer
Quench
We can't quite read the 5th symbol. It means "something" magma
We think this is the manual way to forge cold iron somehow. Which when we were forging it before, we did it because we were in a magical forge.
Tempest touches the Hammer symbol, and it glows red. The rest of the symbols disappear and the other symbols disappear and then the other disappears. We now hear the clay golems walking towards us.
This is where we end.
