Going Through the Unpleasant Motions

by Rosalie Hale

Walking through town with Carlisle and Wally she is looking for her next meal with both. Not being in a good mood to stay around them both and continue cross dressing she goes her own separate way. Just as she was going to lure some random guy into a back alley she sees a familiar flash of blonde hair. "No it can't be..." she mumbles to herself as she's unconsciously making her way towards him.
The farther he gets the more she hurries to catch up to him. She could hear his voice in her head. Just as she gets close she grabs onto his hand.
"Max!" She calls out. He turns around to look at her only for her to realize it isn't him. He looks very close, the similar blue eyes looked down at her as she looked closer at him. "Max's eyes are icier than his." There was no familiar scar on his forearm when she looked down examining him.
"Sorry" she backed away shaking her head "I thought you were someone I knew."
He looked her up and down replying. "Sorry ma'am. I don't know who Max is but I can be him if you want." He said flirting with her. "Gods even his voice is so similar... " she thought to herself, but she knew it wasn't him. This man was human, that look in his eyes wasn't the same look Max used to give her. He was different.
"I better go sorry for bothering you." She said as she made her way to leave just as she was going to this man grabbed her hand.
"I don't know who this Max is but why not get to know me instead? My name is Noah. Pleasure to meet ya!" He winked at her. "Why don't we get to know each other and you'll see I'm better than this guy. I would never leave such a stunning woman behind. It's his loss."
"Maybe they're alike. If they are I can turn him and get over him. I can get over this feeling" she thought as she took his offer. "Fine, let's go hang out if you're really up to it." She complied, deep down she knew it wouldn't be the same, none it it would be. It would all be a lie. She wanted her Max back. "That idiot promised he would stay...." quickly dismissing her thoughts she didn't want to think about it then and there.

As they walked around town he kept talking about himself and his achievements. Her hunger grew stronger but she tried her best to calm it down. From the way he talked about women and to her she figured out. This man wasn't all that great at all. "Definitely not my Max at all...."
Noah was a liar and played with women. He didn't care about them at all and was going to use her next. She could tell she probably looked easy enough in his eyes. Most likely to him she was a desperate woman trying to find a man who broke up with her. It was an easy target.
Just as the night went on she ended up leading him away, she persuaded him and compelled him to follow her. Just as she was going to bite him she stopped. She couldn't bring herself to do it. Even if he was bad she couldn't do it. "Damn it! Why did he have to look like him so much! "
Her hungry getting worse a single tear rolled down her cheek as she couldn't help it anymore. She took her time with him but she hated the taste of him, to her he was vile. Drinking her fill she backed away. His body slumped down against the wall in a daze, he was barely alive. She left just enough for him to live, no matter how bad she was she couldn't bring herself to kill him. He looked too much like him.
Just as she was walking away she heard her name escape his lips. She all but ran away. "It's not him at all... this isn't my Max..."
She couldn't look back, only in looks was he similar but to her it was enough to make her feel some sympathy for him. "It's enough I let him live. " was what she told herself. She needed to feel better. Just as she was going back to the boat she heard a familiar voice humming the Indiana Jones theme song. Rounding the corner she saw Wally finishing his meal, his prey was tied with his whip. She could only imagine what he did this time. The thought alone almost made her smile to laugh even a bit.
She promised herself that once she got back she would tell her friends about what was happening. How he promised to stay and that all this time shes been looking for him. She was determined not to keep secrets anymore. Even if it costed her life she vowed to find Max and bring him back home. "I need to tell him the truth.... he has to know how I feel or I won't ever get another chance..."
