Cousin, today was an especially trying day. We found the place where our companion the Man of Steel was created. Or born. I am not sure what term is more appropriate. He seems to have a soul. And receives the blessing and warmth of the Eternal Flame to heal him of his hurts. However he does not require sustenance nor seem susceptible to the same ailments of traditional beings of flesh and bone. He is a fascinating specimen! Although he does not like it when you touch his hat.
The rest of my companions are interesting and unique individuals. Very capable of defending themselves and providing a safe group to explore and discover the wonders of the world that seem to have been lost to us! We found several interesting items and much unusual machinery while discovering the home of Arc, our Man of Steel. My orc companion is a hulk of being, whom I imagine is nearly size of an ogre! He is much more fearless than I and seems well versed in the ways of combat. And our peculiar silent companion whom I believe is human, although I have never seen his face and seems curiously obsessed with good fabric. Scratchy and uncomfortable that is. Give me some soft Engraben wool I say! Warm in the winter and cool in the summer and soft enough to fall asleep in after a flight or three of wine! And the wee fairy! Excitable and deductive that one is. Rarely misses a beat and can gauge the lay of a room just by the disturbance of the items within it. Somewhat fragile though… still a boon companion so long as he leaves my lovely locks attached to my head! As for my fellow halfling, she is a true woodsman, woodswoman, woodsperson. Whichever, she seems to be a drake friend. What I though was a wee dragon is actually her spirit companion. I still have so many questions. We have not had much time to converse and when we do she often asks even more questions than I! It honestly makes me quite a bit shy and even a little flustered. Me! Can you imagine?! I just want to impress upon her that I am my own man and not just some vagrant noble out of touch with the people.
For now I look forward to a bath and a new sleeping robe. And not to worry. We handled the minor devils we encountered… well.. handily.
