Shopping in Stronghold seemed to be somewhat uneventful, taking very little time for both the cleric and the rogue to gather the new adventuring items and pets that they needed. It sounded as if their rooms had been broken into the night before and precautions were much more necessary now after facing the cultists than they had before our first adventure.
Every instance of our group attempting to go to the Starlit Tower had been hindered over the last few days. This day, our path was slowed by the gathering of the townspeople as crowds swarmed the main street as an Orium dragon made its way to the castle. We had found ourselves joined by a large goliath of a man and a small Firbolg ranger as we were swept in the crowd towards the dragon.
Being the smallest of the growing party, I was trampled and left behind as the group moved towards the wondrous sight before us. I could hear the rough growls of the cleric as she spoke to the dragon in his native tongue. Her voice drew me from the depths of the crowd to her side, where I found myself also conversing with the dragon in his harsh native words.
Xiv was far beyond what I had expected if I ever had the chance to meet one of the Metallic Dragons that flew over my homeland. We spoke briefly, of the Feywild and of far travels, before a warrior unlike any I had ever seen stepped before us. I was in awe of the man known as the Grand Duelist. His legend was great, littered with impossible deeds, not unlike my own Father. It was a surprise to see such a man in a place as wild and different as Stronghold.
Through our interactions, we gained an invite to the banquet to be held at the castle later that night. We continued forth to the Starlit Tower, but once again our progress was hindered by unforeseen enemies. Gang members and cultists fought us, and I found myself faced with the first moral dilemma since I reached the Human Empire. But my morals would not be easily swayed.
If nothing else came of my trip to the land of the humans, I would hold fast to the morals instilled in me through my study and training of my order. I hoped that alone would please my Father, but I knew I would be tested again before I left Stronghold.
