Marlie’s hut
the dullahan circles the hut
Indy wants to open the door and potentially trap it inside, but is outvoted
Blythe yells through the door that the Death Mother is her godmother and she’ll be very cross with him (the dullahan), and she hears it move away
eventually Marlie and Elli check outside, where the dullahan has carved fey circles of protection on the house and left fresh donuts on the step
he has also written “prtek” and “dunnut” on the front door
as we huddle inside the house, the wind begins to pick up, growing to hurricane levels, accompanied by thunder and earthquakes
Marlie’s hut is torn apart piece by piece by the wind
the storm ends with utter darkness and chaotic noise dissolving into a bright, blinding light and complete silence
Blythe sees the bann sidhe in the distance scattering across the sky
we step through a magical barrier of protection created by the dullahan around the hut
we see a bann sidhe collecting a soul from the ground nearby
we go back towards the Pickle house; the city is in ruins, with buildings turned to rubble
bann sidhe collect souls in “nets”
the Pickle house is the only house still standing in Old Hightown
Cuulgui has been protecting Kelsa, Katty, and BB; but as he sees it’s over, he disappears
we return to the market square, met with the sight of towering crystal ice structures; people entombed in ice pillars
those further from the center of the square look as if they were trying to flee, looking at something in the sky
at the center of it all is the altar of the Mother, where she sits accessing an intricate web of souls
she tells Blythe that this great event was fated to occur, these people fated to die, but those in the ice are not necessarily dead
she uses the web like a loom, sorting through the souls of the living and the dead (black and white threads)
she warns me that touching the web would be death
Marlie’s mother is frozen in front of her cart, holding out an iron box and letter for Marlie
(Post Session)
Blythe finds her mother, father, and brother Andrew in the ice, though Sarah is missing
