Fomorian Twilight

by Patience a.k.a. 'Sabali' In the Shadows

We the unbroken once travelled through the wild plane of the fey,
Weary and anxious we trod a true path to find the fomorian to slay.
On a quest from the lord of the hunt, we couldn't refuse his request,
For to earn our freedom from serving this lord, we choose this treacherous test.
On a mission audacious, we stayed our course, ignoring gold towers of riches,
We trundled on, step by step, over rocks, fallen trees and steep ditches.

and oh, what a terrible sight to behold,
oh what a ferocious fight we were sold,
but on that night the unbroken were bold,
in the dark fomorian twilight!

We wandered in violet forests, fought through an up-flowing river.
We crossed a stony bridge and the thrashing trees made us shiver.
The teasing Sabali stuck out his tongue,
Dodging a branch having so much fun.
A short and savage battle erupted,
the trees sprung forth with life but corrupted.
His reflexes were quick but too bad for the cat,
The branches came fast, and the next one knocked him flat.

Further and further we plunged into gloom, pressing on through the thicket.
A low and thundering growl up ahead, we approached bushes formed as a wicket.
Darkness was looming as we drew closer, the smell of death in the air,
We reached the threshold, caution but brave, and what we saw we couldn't help but stare.
Before us a clearing of corrupted elves and the ugliest hound we ever did see,
Sadly we failed to surprise our foes, but did we turn and flee?

Before us a battle with numerous foes, the scene was straight out of hell,
A dark druid tried to conjured some evil, but Raph quickly countered his spell,
The Yeth hound took to the air, and let forth a howl of dread to the ear,
The magic was strong, and many of us were suddenly stricken with fear.
Next he emerged, the mighty Cachalain, out of the darkness he stormed,
The foromian turned his cursed eye to Enessa, and with that she was badly deformed.

But did Enessa fumble and cower? I hear you ask 'what did she do'?
With disfigured arms and a hunched over back, her arrows were still flying true!
Even when curse and crippled, she knew this monster and druid must die!
And with that, the final blow dealt, an arrow went straight through his eye!
She turned to the druid next, as the deal was she must make the kill.
A briny grasp from Zeni made sure to hold the foe still.
The elves now knew they were beaten, they turned tail and were routed,
But no mercy was given that day, the druid and elves executed!
