The caravan stops for the night, and we set up camp. I find a nice tree to spend the night in, while the others settle into bedrolls and tents on the ground. Waking partway through the night, we appear to have been transported to some strange place. Argus and Sigh have clearly been "here" before, or at least have experienced something similar.
Appearing some ways off, as if popping into existence, is a bird-man in colorful robes, taking notes in a book with a long-feathered quill. His name, he says, is Cid, and he has no idea what's going on either.
Argus attempts to explain, saying that the lost Chaos God, Beuzu, has brought us here for his own reasons, and we need to find our own way out.
Sigh points out an unusual formation in the distance, and we set out toward it. Turns out to be the ruins of a temple, which has a small band of lizardfolk in it. Cid accidentally draws their attention, and Argus reacts by attacking - apparently he's got an unpleasant history with these creatures.
The last of the lizardfolk, one of their shamans, surrenders, and Argus interrogates him. Seems the lizardfolk were also mysteriously transported here, and were trying to figure out what happened and how to get back. Exploring the area, Sigh finds a fountain, oddly full of water in the middle of a desert, as well as a bag of holding full of things the lizardfolk had collected. Some of these items are largely worthless (a teddy bear missing its eyes, for instance), but others are potentially quite valuable (such as four stinky silver-colored bars of metal that Cid says are magical).
Further exploration is interrupted by a handful of clockwork creatures, which we are holding at bay when a silver dragon swoops in and destroys them. It seems Sigh carries a scale from this dragon, Galveligh, which she used to track us here. Galveligh has been trying to communicate with Sigh in her dreams and was in the midst of such an attempt when we were pulled into the Plane of Chaos. Thanks to the dragon, we're able to return to our home plane, roughly where we were before.
