Sadly my previous journal was waterlogged and lost, so I will summarize our adventures over the past few days. We tracked down the evil sorcerer man, he shot a laser beam into Yabalchoath's Vault, got away and zoomed off into that direction. Turns out he wanted to kill her to prove his worth to Argos or something. Anyhow, we followed him into the vault, and wound up getting stuck in a "hypercube" or "hypertessaract" or something. Lots of rooms, directions didn't work, time didn't work, everything kept teleporting everywhere, lots of fun. Had to find 7 keys on 7 floors to a big door to get through to where Yabalchoath was.
Eventually got through, saved Yabalchoath from the evil sorcerer man. He got killed when she summoned Argos, she offered us all a wagon of gold, most everyone else took it. I'd already gotten plenty of reward from exploring her vault, and my reasons for being there didn't involve rewards, so I declined the offer. Shaper gave me a hard time about that, called me a fool among other things. Maybe he was right.
Afterwards, most of us went our separate ways. Shaper back to his shop, Forrester to his woods, Euble to his army, Snow to his... wherever he lives. Marissa is staying at my shop temporarily until she can find alternative housing. Still haven't figured out where I recognize her from. Oh, and I'm teaching her to play chess.
There were a small number of other things that happened, most of which aren't all that important. Of the things that were, I'm legally disallowed from recording their happening; there are some things that even my posterity cannot be made aware of. Nothing too crude or illicit, I assure you, but still not things ultimately worth knowing. Knowledge can kill, after all.
