The Spyce
The Spyce are people that are themed around spices. They are thought to begin inhabiting the continent around the same time as The Mush.
The Spyce originated in the mountainous region of what is now called Shiokosho. They were somewhat unaffected by Kiwano's flood and mostly kept to themselves, isolating themselves in the mountains.
A stereotype of the Spyce is that they worship Pitaya or are part of The Chosen, causing many to be wary of them.
Culture
Shared customary codes and values
It is unsure what the origins are, but an important aspect of Spyce culture is their relationship/ belief in Pitaya, God of Judgement. They dedicate themselves to him and their culture is based around this his beliefs and values. Of course, this immediately causes many Spyce to be associated with The Chosen, even though a majority of them aren't even closely related.
It has gotten so bad at times that some Spyce have been forced out of villages, or end up having to hide their beliefs of Pitaya all together to remain safe.
Art & Architecture
The Spyce have adapted to building into/ on the sides of mountains due to their surroundings.
Coming of Age Rites
In time's past, the Spyce had a rite where when one turns 18, they must journey north into the Azalea Desert and stay there for three days, using their survival skills to keep themselves alive. This was to prove they had Pitaya's blessing and were strong enough to survive into adulthood. Countless people perished in this rite, and because of this, it eventually faded out around 20AM, during the time of Laya Tsubu and Piper Tsubu's rule.
