Artiteng'h (Weg'olw'chyen; /arˈtitengh/)
The Ouroboros, The Infinite Serpent
"Klengʼgl wgerilwʼ tengʼ rʼlu chyʼǔh mga shka glegi wgehchytʼ, ka?."Artiteng'h is the Outsider God of Divinity and Divine Power, representing the inherent magic that resides within every single thing in Aanrah. Those who dare whisper about the Orobors speak of a beast who joys in watching the chaos that unfolds with those who chase power, uncaring of the destruction that his followers might bring. They say those who can summon him can be granted inherent power they originally couldn't use, akin to a god's - but that power could very well destroy them.
Description
Appearance
Artiteng'h appears as a giant serpent-like creature comprised of a infinite number of heads devouring the rest of their own body, or producing more body to be consumed. Their skin is grey and scale-like, and is lined with two rows of white eyes that run along both its sides and all of its heads. Artiteng'h is infinitely large, though those who have the misfortune of entering Artiteng'h's true domain will find that its body is about 20' wide at most parts. Artieng'h has no end and no beginning. On occasion, Artiteng'h is said to appear as a male moon elf, often described as having empty white eyes, dusky skin, and long white hair and ears.
Personality
Artiteng'h is rather aloof, uncaring and unworried about anyone but himself. It couldn't care less if Aanrah was destroyed, or if people die or are injured, or if anything bad happens. Similarly, if things work out well, it doesn't really care either. Artiteng'h is entirely self-centered and only cares if it entertains him, which makes dealing with him difficult and dangerous. Even when working with the other elder gods and under Kht'oth's orders, Artiteng'h is more than happy to let things spiral out of control for its own entertainment. Threats even from Kht'oth don't seem to frighten Artiteng'h any, so there seems to be no way of trying to steer it any other direction.Powers & Domain
Artiteng'h has the power to control the divine aspects of individuals and objects - or, rather, Artiteng'h can interact with them. They are capable of drawing out inherent power and granting other beings a state similar to that of ascended dragons regardless of race - albeit this power can come at a terrible cost. As this power is simply drawn and not carefully cultivated, it is known for often ending in the user's quick if not immediate destruction. It is unknown if Artiteng'h can manipulate this or manipulate a thing's divine aspect through its will, or if these interactions exist off of what already is. Artiteng'h itself has never been known to confirm or deny guesses, and otherwise does seem to be hands-off with the process. The act of gaining a inhrent power involves touching Artiteng'h itself - and those who come away with a scale or strand of tendril are known to be able to draw weaker powers out of others. Some deities fear Artiteng'h's power over the divine domain, fearing the possibility that Artiteng'h could remove their power or divinity as they know it. While he has never shown such a power or a intent to do so, many gods remain weary. Other gods debate on what would happen if a divine creature touched Artiteng'h - would it increase their power, or destroy them? Nobody has been willing to test it themselves yet.
History
Artiteng'h is the second oldest known elder god, behind Kht'oth. Like the other Outsider deities, it is unknown how old he is, or the circumstances of his 'birth'. What is known is that Artiteng'h was present at the meeting of the gods , though it is unknown what, if any, role he played in the creation of the world.Artiteng'h is a rather reserved deity, allowing followers to come to him instead of seeking them out himself. As a elder god, much of its power seems invested elsewhere, and it has little need for worship or the attention of mortals. Coupled with the fact that it exists in its own pocket realm, Artiteng'h is a rarely contacted god who's interests rarely seem to truly involve anything that is occuring on Aanrah - much of its interactions with its 'followers' are brief and seem to be only for its amusement than anything else.
Religion & Dogma
Artiteng'h does not really have a true cult or following. Those who seek him out often do so as an extention of interest in the general Outsider pantheon. Anyone capable of pulling more information on this elusive god would know that dealing with him is high risk high reward - and more often than not will end with a swift and sudden death. While Artiteng'h does not seem to be actively malicious, it cares not for what happens to those who seek its power, and is more than happy to give power to those foolish enough to seek it even if that results in their sudden death or a long slew of destruction thanks to their newly acquired power.Artiteng'h is known to be reachable through reflective surfaces, and is said to sometimes be even reachable by those not looking for him. Some speak of seeing Artiteng'h's visage in the reflection of the ocean at night, though some scholars argue this is Mgachyt' and not Artiteng'h.
Artifacts, Etc.
Artiteng'h's Scale (Artifact) - A few of Artiteng'h's scales exist in Aanrah, taking the form of smooth, dull blue-grey ovals that glimmer in a rainbow hue in the light. Touching one is said to partially unlock one's inner magic capacities - a much weaker version than what Artiteng'h itself provides. These scales are highly coveted and highly regulated and illegal, usually traded between cults or kept in high-security vaults in certain magic groups.Extra
- While capable of understanding any and every language, Artiteng'h has only ever heard speaking in Weg'olw'chyen. It is assumed that he could similarly speak any language as well, but just chooses not to.
Relationships
History
Artiteng'h is Khaelas's main patron.
History
Ariteng'h and Emrul consider each other allies by way of being outsiders and having a similar domain. Emrul defers to Artiteng'h as its superior, and Artiteng'h is happy to rub that in Emrul's face. Emrul deeply envies Artiteng'h's power and status, and doesn't always do the best job at hiding his resentment that Artiteng'h, for all its laziness, is the elder god with more power. Artiteng'h finds Emrul's jealousy funny, and uses it whenever possible to make jabs and get Emrul's goat. Emrul is willing to tolerate it though, maybe in hopes of someday surpassing Artiteng'h.

Really lovely art! I like him knowing all languages but speaking only one just because he wants to. It's oddly charming.
