Session 8: On the Trail Report

General Summary

The group followed the trail a little further before setting up camp for the evening. On Ashley Benatar and Jameson Grib's watch a small wooden creature wandered out from the woods. After some failed attempts to communicate with it they called in Sprig Silvertoung who offered it a small blanket made cape which it took happily and then disappeared into the wood. The Eclayoran Night Hawk was around and appeared to be trying to hunt.
On the second watch, Tasrielle Daldareln and Alecto Ocreata failed to converse. despite Alecto Ocreata's shoddy attempts.
On the third watch, Drostre Bassast found that Orla Fren was from the feywild overlap and has powers that have put her family in danger which is why she came adventuring.
On the final watch, Bharash Marux tried to comfort Thryan Rosserk to some avail. He got the man's opinions on the party:

• He is intimidated and uncomfortable with Alecto Ocreata since she put the child down.
• He is wary of Drostre Bassast.
• He doesn't know that Ashley Benatar shot him.
• He is ok with Sprig Silvertoung although a little bit jaded about being mistrusted and awoken.

In the morning they picked the trail back up. While Ashley Benatar did some successful hunting the group came upon a freshly made clearing by way of fireball. They learnt from the tracks that there is evidence of at least two slaadi. Ashley Benatar scouted ahead and found a man hiding near a smouldering cart. Ashley Benatar communicated with the party through Thryan Rosserk's lip reading skills that the man didn't appear to be injured.
The group sent in a communication party made up of Tasrielle Daldareln and Bharash Marux so as not to alarm the man. They learnt that there were four slaadi: one greyish one, one blue one and two red. The man pointed them in the direction of a cave. They then brought Alecto Ocreata in to give the man a once over and he had nothing but a graze. 
Tasrielle Daldareln confirmed the location of the slaadi with the aid of a spell and the party set off again. The group planned in advance. Sprig Silvertoung gave Drostre Bassast Perspective, Tribute to Knowledge to help in the fight. Despite not being able to sneak up on the slaadi successfully the group did manage to dispatch them with few injuries. Only Thryan Rosserk and Genesis were scratched in a way that could cause infection, which the party are unsure about currently. They took the heads off the slaadi as proof of their job well done and planned to sleep in the cave for the night before heading on to Tentaught.
