Svarkó Pass
Paheiríenic: Svarkólym
The Svarkó Pass1 is by far the easiest route through the Sjorgús Mountains and currently the safest one, as other passages such as Eilal Canyon to the west have long since been abandoned due to the presence of Dragons in the area.
Merchants, warriors, adventures and pilgrims on their way between Nemirkía to the north and Marissía to the south have passed through here since prehistoric times, with caravans laden with goods of all kinds being the most common sight nowadays, hailing either from the Sikíron Empire or Kingdom of Marissía.
According to the folklore of local Paheiríen-Elves, this place was created during the great battle between the primordial snake and bird at the dawn of time, which shaped the world into much of its current form. As the bird caught the serpent into its talons, the snake bit its enemy, slipped out if the bird's grasp and crashed onto the ground, forming the pass in the process.
Slate, found in abundance within and near Svarkó Pass, is believed to petrified scales left by the divine serpent.
