Zotans
Zotic: Zotolló /zɔthɔlːouː/
Amran: Zotolo /zɔːthɔːlɔ/
The zotans1 were a semi-nomadic people who once inhabited what is now southern Lerdis in western Gysikan. Closely related to the modern Amrans and to lesser extent Rómúkans, they were one of the main hapalian tribes in the region before being supplanted by the ancestors of the Lerdíkans and Nússans after the fall of Paþaría. Prior to the invasion, they mostly subsisted on herding goats, hunting, trading goods with neighbouring groups and -later on- stealing sheep from the dwarven Katargysians.
Lers was the god of war, whose connection to wolves was less prevalent than among the amrans, so while the claws and teeth of the animal were still worn as talismans, the ritual consumption of wolf meat was restricted to chiefs, specifically to confirm their status as one. Þif was goddess of the moon, similar to the amran deity Þí but uniquely associated with Magic Crystals as well, due to the glittering stones being equated with the moon and stars above.

Religion
Zotan religion was centered around the divine pair Lers and Þif.Lers was the god of war, whose connection to wolves was less prevalent than among the amrans, so while the claws and teeth of the animal were still worn as talismans, the ritual consumption of wolf meat was restricted to chiefs, specifically to confirm their status as one. Warfare
Zotan warriors were skilled slingers, using both stones as well as magic crystals acquired from the edge of Goldensands to the west as ammunition. While this practice wasn't unique to them, it formed an important part of zotan culture and thus was more prominent, to the point that some even considered it shameful to use any other material to sling at their enemies.1Original icelandic: Zotar, singular: Zoti.
