Goldensands
Goldensands1 is a place of great risk and rewards; its a vast expanse of sand and rocks, too arid to sustain all but the hardiest of life, but under the sands is the single largest concentration of magic crystals in all of Adynía.
The general lack of resources aside from the crystals in and around Goldensands, especially water, is the main reason no one has ever settled or made serious claim to the area. Instead, countries and even individual mage academies send out teams with mule caravans to collect as many crystals in as short time as they can. The whole process is quite dangerous to say the least, as not only can touching charged crystals prove fatal, but the sheer amount of magic in the area is more than the body can handle for prolonged time.
Tribes in northern Darden and western Gysikan traditionally gather crystals at the edges in small quantities as well. Some are known for using them as weapons by slinging them at enemies or carefully fashioning the crystals into arrowheads.

Geography
Goldensands stretch north and then northwest from the inner eastern coast of Nótal Bay and northern Darden to the Arakrí Plain that separates the Nemirkía from Góalanis, the whole area roughly resembles an elongated crescent.
The whole area is fairly rocky, covered in sand that shimmers from the amount of magic crystals found within. Flashes of light and faint cracking sounds happen every once in a while, due to an unfortunate fly or exhausted bird landing on a charged crystal, sometimes causing a small chain reaction of explosions.

Fauna & Flora
Due to the lack of water and high amount of arcane energy, Goldensands supports little life aside from highly specialized bacteria, and hardy grasses along the edges.
