Dragonsong

A large island continent.

Dragonsong is widely considered a dangerous land where evil creatures are numerous. There were at one time a few human settlements on Dragonsong, but they were destroyed or overrun by some unknown force. Many believe dragons still call it home and still hide among the many spires of the island. There still remains a human presence on the island at Portunix Bay as it is well guarded and hidden from the many dangers of the island by the mountains.

History

During the era of the Great Dragon Empire, Dragonsong was the location where the ruling council of Empire met for large official matters. This included trials of dragons who had done some great offense to Aero or Bahamut, though these trials were rare. The meetings and trials took place on the southern part of Dragonsong at the Tribunal Peaks, which were a number of mountain spires encircling one large mountain referred to as Aero's Pike. The accused would stand on Aero's Pike and plead their case while surrounded by the judging dragons, typically presided by Bahamut. The elegy of the accused was customarily one of pure truth & sincerity. In draconic, this lament was called Dlraharrynmiirik. When broken down dlraharryn means "dragon," and miirik means "song," and when the two are spoken separately, they retain their literal meaning; however, when the two are put together as "Dlraharrynmiirik," it specifically refers to the elegy of the accused... and the location of its delivery.
