The Oakenside Inn

Purpose / Function

The Oakenside Inn was built on the crossroads between Linstead and Newport as a place to give travellers a place to rest. Without the Inn's presence, wagons could be on the road for almost a tenday before they reached a settlement.

Design

The front door leads into the main foyaye. The room is large and rectangular in shape. on the right wall are three arches with windows and comfortable seating placed in them. The bar sits at the far end of the room, across from a roaring fire in it's centre surrounded by lavish sofas. The to the left is the door which opens into the kitchen and a staircase which leads to the rooms upstairs.

Alterations

The floor behind the bar, the centre of kitchen and he walls above most of the beds, have a 1 inch whole in the woodwork hidden in hard-to-see places - DC25 Intelligence (Investigation) check to discover. The basement has also been sealed up with the door removed.   Finally, a campsite has been setup outside of the Inn for visitors who wish to stay when the rooms are full.

Architecture

The Oakenside Inn is made predominantly from plaster and wood. It has large windows on all side giving guest who stay there lovely views of the area. The building also has red roof tiles which can been seen from a mile away.
