Introduction of New Character: Folantis Pluma : An Aracokra character is introduced.
Key Events:
Lost Keys: Alfie Sophia Timoria loses their keys, which are then taken by Cila Colkyre . Breaking into Camp: The protagonist heads to camp to break in and attend Rossi’s class. They get Zephyr out, but Zephyr leaves, causing sadness.
Theo Atzetari 's Encounter: Knock on Theo's Door: Rhubarb gives Theo a letter, revealing that Glitz the Rapscallion wants to buy out the The Snake Pit .
Protest: At a protest, Theo pretends to be Constable Byron Irons and sneaks into the front entrance, finding only six guards left. Inside, Ulrich Atzetari , Bhumi Kaowtor , Olivia Smoke , Strawberry (Ulrich’s Lieutenant), and Hileria Starbrook (the class president) are present. Hilaria and her family plan to buy out the camp.
The Emerald Hood : Hits the door, but Theo manages to escape. Sophia Timoria and the Emerald Hood arrive, with the Hood looking for someone, grappling away when they aren’t found. Percival arrives at the Snake Pit as well.
Snake Pit and Relationships: Emerald Hood arrives at the Snake Pit, frantically searching for Olivia. It’s hinted that they might be dating.
Adults Go Underground: Adults begin discussing in thieves' cant, a language known by the protagonist. Game Time: Only Sadiq is present at the game, and Joe Rossi starts crying from joy as they win, outshining Sadiq Hawa
Drug Bust: Folantis Spies: Folantis spies on the warehouse, noting no one on the roof and two guards each at the front and back. The protagonist leads others to the roof.
Battle with Vert : Korzin and Cila position themselves around the back door, while Haegwin and Alfie cover the front. Inside, the protagonist sees Vert sitting on a chair, surrounded by six men, petting a gryphon—Zephyr. Vert tries to rename Zephyr to Dimitri, infuriating the protagonist. The protagonist barges in, pins Vert, and is determined to kill him, expressing anger over Zephyr leaving.
Emotional Resolution: The protagonist's emotional state shifts from having a plan to feeling lost without Zephyr, redirecting their anger towards Vert.
